Visually, Flame Busters looks like a Nintendo style game with graphics reminiscent of the Mario Brothers game – with an arcade feel to it, you are taken back to 1986. The setting is a burning building with firefighters (Buster) on either side of the reel set.

Symbols on the reels include Mario Brothers style coins (A, K, Q, J and T) – you also have a goatboy, pirate, robot, wizard and Roasty McFry (firefighter) with Toasty the Cat. The latter is the most valuable giving you 10 times your total stake for 5 across a payline. There is also a Fire symbol which acts as a mystery symbol – this is replaced by another symbol at random except the wild and scatter. The W is the wild symbol and substitutes for any other symbol except the scatter.

That scatter is the Alarm Bell – if you get 3 or more, you will trigger the Bonus Game feature. 3 will give you 10 free spins whilst 4 gives you 15 free spins. If you’re lucky enough to get 5, you will benefit from 20 free spins. Look out for the Alarm Bell appearing during the feature.

These are collected in order to advance upwards in the building – every 3 scatters collect will see a new floor unlocked which gives you an extra 2 free spins. There are 5 levels in total meaning an extra 10 free spins can be won – taking your potential total to 30.

More importantly, every floor you unlock will trigger the Coin Ignition feature. With a floor being unlocked, the lowest valued coin turns into a Fire symbol for the remainder of the feature. So if you reach level 5 for example, all 5 coins will become Fire symbols – these then transform into any other symbol (bar the scatter and wild) for bigger wins.

Back to the base game – there is a Fire Drill feature which is triggered random. When activated, between 1 to 5 of the low win coin symbols will transform into Fire symbols which then change into another symbol for bigger wins.

Flame Busters is quite simple once you get going and is all about the Bonus Game feature in my opinion – getting extra free spins and up to 5 transforming symbols into Fire symbol will give you the biggest wins.
