However, on closer inspection, I figured out that Slotmill uses the scatter pay or pay anywhere mechanic on this one, which has a more flexible arrangement for hitting a winning combination. You can form a winning combination by landing eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the reels instead of chasing a fixed arrangement. Hence, the name Pay Anywhere.

At first glance, the name Fruit Smash brought to mind classic fruit-themed slots, which initially lowered my expectations. However, Slotmill has done an excellent job of giving this 6-reel slot game a more modern and exciting feel. With avalanche reels, scatter pay, and numerous rewarding features, there are plenty of opportunities for big payouts.

Slotmill goes the extra mile to make Fruit Smash more than basic by introducing avalanche, and scatter pays rather than traditional paylines. Landing the giant fruit in a round with progressive win multipliers was my highlight of the game. The two multipliers added with the symbol wins gave a good payout.
