Tarasque Slot RTP, Details and Wager Limits
The Tarasque slot is played on an 8×8 grid and uses Cluster Pays. Essentially a grid slot, winning combinations or clusters are created when 5 or more identical symbols appear adjacent to one another (i.e. in a cluster). The maximum number of symbols you can land is 64 (8 x 8 = 64).
In terms of the bet range, you can spin away from 10p to £50 per spin. Changing your bet is simple. Use the arrows next to the grid or press/click the Bet amount to see all available options. Players outside the UK can use Autoplay (with up to 1,000 auto spins) and Turbo Mode for quicker spins.
The Tarasque slot RTP is 96.3%. This is above the 96% average but it’s not the only RTP rate available at slot sites as there is a 94% RTP version. Volatility-wise, it’s in the high category (4/5).
The hit frequency rate is 31.71% meaning a winning cluster will land every 3.15 spins on average. The Tarasque slot benefits from 20,000 x bet max wins. With the max win probability 1 in 2,778,550 spins from the base game, you’ll will 100+, 500+ or 1,000+ x bet every 1,151, 5,264 or 15,903 spins respectively.
Theme: join the legendary monster in medieval France
With an art/medieval theme, the Tarasque slot is based on the legendary Tarasque creature/monster from French mythology. It’s rumoured the beast had a lion-like head, a turtle-like body, 6 feet with bear-like claws, a serpent’s tail and could expel a poisonous breath, that’s according to Wikipedia anyway.
Set in a market fair in medieval France, the graphics and imagery are simply sensational. Reminiscent of an oil painting, it takes you back in time to simpler times. It comes with a medieval soundtrack which is upbeat and sets the tone perfectly. Kudos to Print Studios for creating something special, yet again.
On the 8×8 grid, you’ll see 4-leaf clovers, snails, lemons and horseshoes are the low-value symbols. All pay 100 x your total bet for 64 in a cluster. The higher-value symbols are depicted by 4 medieval characters. You have a jester, knight, town crier and St. Martha. The latter is the best-paying symbol awarding 2 to 1,000 x your total bet for 5 to 64+ symbols in a cluster.
Look out for the Wild symbol which is an eye within a triangle. It substitutes for all other symbols on the grid. The other symbol of note is the Tarasque which acts as a wild and comes into play when the first Progressive feature is active (more details below).

Tarasque Mobile
Released on the 22nd of February 2024, Tarasque uses HTML5 technology. Despite the medieval/art feel, it’s been optimised for play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. Compatible with iOS and Android smartphones, I would recommend a larger device (laptop or PC) so you can benefit from the full visual and aural experience.
Tarasque Bonus Features
The Tarasque slot has 7 bonus features. When you land a winning cluster, winning symbols transform into an adjacent symbol if the same as the Morphing symbol. Cluster wins can also be subject to random multipliers up to 20x. Wins also charge the Progress Bar which brings 4 features into play: they add wilds, remove low-value symbols, add Morphing symbols and increase the Tarasque size. The Tarasque is wild and adds all devoured symbols back onto the grid for more wins.
Morphing Clusters feature
Above the top right-hand corner of the grid, you’ll notice Mage’s Tower which displays a random Morphing symbol. If winning clusters match the Morphing symbol, winning symbols transform into a different adjacent symbol. This then sees the winning clusters grow in size.
The process repeats itself until the winning symbol doesn’t match the Morphing symbol. Finally, the Morphing symbol will also change if it doesn’t match the unleashed symbol in the Unleash Stage (more details below).
Celestial Blessings feature
Randomly, cluster wins can be subjected to a multiplier of up to 20x. The possible multiplier values are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x or 20x. This is known as the Celestial Blessings feature.
Progressive features
The Progress Bar to the left of the grid increases with every winning cluster. This in turn activates random progressive features. The higher the level a feature is activated on, the more powerful the feature is. Here are the features you can benefit from:
- Wild Spikes feature: several wilds are randomly added to the grid. The higher the level, the more wilds are added.
- Blazing Gaze feature: all low-value symbols are removed from the grid. On higher levels, low-value symbols are also removed in subsequent cascades.
- Mage’s Morph feature: a number of Morphing symbols are randomly added to the grid. The higher the level, the more Morphing symbols are added.
- Bulking Beast feature: the Tarasque increases in size until there are no more winning clusters. The higher the level, the bigger the size of the Tarasque.
For reference, the Tarasque acts as a wild symbol and is randomly added to the grid when the first Progressive feature is triggered. It also devours symbols from winning clusters it’s part of.
When no more Progressive features are activated, the Tarasque unleashes all devoured symbols, beginning with the lowest-value symbol. Up to a full screen of symbols can be unleashed at once.
Feature Bet
Non-UK players can use the optional Feature Bet. You are guaranteed 6 to 45 Morphing symbols on the grid for up to 221.7 x your total bet. Here are the options along with the cost and RTP:
| Morphing Symbols | RTP | Cost |
| 6 | 96.46% | 3.5 x bet |
| 12 | 96.58% | 10.8 x bet |
| 23 | 96.59% | 46 x bet |
| 34 | 96.89% | 105 x bet |
| 45 | 97.02% | 221.7 x bet |
Tarasque Verdict: quirky, unique, well-crafted + highly rewarding
The Tarasque slot is a superb-designed game which is unique and mesmerising. With a tongue-in-cheek feel, it benefits from quirky and funny animations which depict the peculiar tale of a legendary beast perfectly. Visually though, it does remind me of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975 film and therefore Holy Hand Grenade (also by Print Studios).
In terms of the gameplay, yes, it’s a cluster pays slot but the way Print Studios does things is refreshing. The Morphing Clusters feature simply selects 1 symbol on each spin which transforms the entire winning cluster into an adjacent/nearby symbol. This leads to plenty of chain reactions of increasing cluster wins.
On top of this, every win charges the Progressive Meter which has 5 levels. With the first level, the Tarasque symbol appears on the grid which acts as a wild and devours neighbouring winning symbols. The beast then proceeds to unleash various features which are more powerful the further you go. In the end, the Tarasque regurgitates all devoured symbols which can lead to huge winning clusters and hopefully big payouts.
In summary, the Tarasque slot is cheeky, superbly designed and offers unique gameplay. With 20,000 x bet max wins possible, the animations and the way the characters interact is worth the admission alone. Overall, it’s another great game from Print Studios who have begun 2024 just as they left 2023: with a bang.
If you like the gameplay, it’s a bit like the Reactoonz slot series from Play ‘n GO which sees you charge the meter to trigger various features onto the grid.
