CollectR™ and Cascading Reels
As mentioned earlier, the game ditches regular paylines for the CollectR™ mechanic. It features 4 differently coloured creatures that can move either vertically or horizontally around the reels, picking up corresponding payout symbols on their path. The creatures can’t naturally jump over other coloured symbols or creatures.
Each picked symbol pays 0.05x the bet, meaning 5 symbols pay 0.25x the bet. You’ll need the creatures to go on a symbol-collecting spree to rack up a decent payout, and thankfully, the operator pairs the mechanic with cascading reels.
Whenever creatures collect corresponding symbols, existing symbols from above fall into the vacant spaces. The process will continue as long as a creature can swallow at least one symbol.
Switchero and Creature Clash
When two creatures appear adjacent to each other, and there’s no possibility of picking up a symbol, they can perform a Switchero or Creature Clash. In a Switchero, the creatures will swap positions vertically and horizontally, creating new chances to collect symbols.
Creature Clash, on the other hand, will cause the creatures to clash into a symbol, removing all participating creatures except the winner of the clash. All the symbols in a 4×4 cluster corresponding to the removed creatures are also removed.
Multiplier Bubbles and Multiplier Strike
The first time a symbol is collected on a position, a Multiplier Bubble appears on that position with a starting value of 2x. If another symbol is collected on the same position on the same spin, the multiplier increases, reaching up to 1,024x.
After a creature has collected all possible symbols, the active multiplier bubbles are added together and applied to the payout value. Sadly, the bubbles are cleared at the end of each spin.
There’s also a Multiplier Strike feature, which, unlike the Multiplier Bubbles, triggers randomly. When active, all multipliers in a 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, or 6×7 area will increase.
Evolution Meter
The game features an Evolution Meter that keeps track of the collected symbols, and it has 4 sections, one for each creature. When it’s full, it adds 1 pending Creature Evolve feature and upgrades a random creature up to level 3.
When a creature reaches maximum upgrade, its ability is put in a pending state until it can’t collect symbols anymore. After which its ability is activated. Here’s a breakdown of each creature’s abilities:
- Fire Creature: In levels 1, 2, and 3, it removes 1, 2, and 3 creatures, respectively, along with their matching payout symbols.
- Water Creature: Levels 1, 2, and 3 add 3, 4, and 5 feature symbols to the reels, respectively.
- Nature Creature: It removes all creatures from the reels except itself. Plus, it also removes regular symbols and increases the Multiplier Bubble values on a 3×3 cluster.
- Air Creature: It selects a random creature and creates a path to collect 5 to 10+ matching symbols.
Feature Symbols
Different feature symbols may land on the reels as you spin away, and below is a breakdown of how each of them works:

Hmm… where do I even begin? Spark of Creation is packed in typical ELK’s Pirots fashion, and if you’ve been around the block long enough, you’ll know what that means. It’s a good thing that the CollectR™ mechanic is expanding beyond its Pirots roots, as seen earlier in Dam Beavers. Still, newbies might find it quite complex.
There’s a lot to look forward to, but what really piqued my attention is the Multiplier Bubbles feature. Though it’s nothing new, I fancy the chances of position multipliers growing to 1,024x. There’s also a Multiplier Strike, which offers more of a random boost to an area of the grid.
Another innovative touch is the creatures’ abilities, which become even more promising as they upgrade. However, while I would typically embrace a feature-heavy slot, this one feels like everything is happening at once, which can be overwhelming.
