Theme: the quest continues
With a jungle theme, the design in Coin Quest 2 is very similar to the original. For starters, the main difference is the 6×6 game grid is slightly larger than the 5×5 on offer in the first Coin Quest.
Aesthetically, you’ll go straight into a dense jungle which has ancient ruins and Aztec-style temples in the background. The 6×6 grid is encased by stone blocks. The rhythmical soundtrack and sounds of the jungle deliver plenty of atmosphere here. It does sound like a ritual of some sort is being performed.
Symbols are made up of low-value playing card suits followed by higher-value blue, green, red and purple skull masks. The purple skull mask is the best-paying symbol awarding 75 x your total bet if you land 16 or more in combination.
You also have the Wild symbol that substitutes for all paying symbols above. Other symbols include Coins, the Bonus and Super Bonus as well as various Power Up symbols (more details on these below).

With 7 bonus features, the gameplay in Coin Quest 2 is pretty straightforward. There are a few extras to take note of though, especially the Coin Cluster, Power Up and Free Spins features.
Avalanche feature
After a winning cluster lands on the grid, the Avalanche feature triggers and an Avalanche follows. The winning/successful symbols are blasted from the screen and replaced by new ones. Avalanches continue as long as a new winning cluster forms.
Coin Cluster feature
On the grid, look out for special Coin symbols which come with bet multipliers of between 1 and 500 x your total bet attached. If the coins form a winning cluster of 5 symbols, the multipliers are added together and paid out. An Avalanche then follows. A new Coin, complete with the multiplier will be one of the new symbols that drops into place.
Collect Meter feature
To the side of the reels is the Collect Meter. This charges by 1 with each winning symbol in an Avalanche. If the meter reaches a charge of 25, it becomes active and extra Coins and Wilds are added to the grid. Get the Collect Meter up to 50 for the Overcharge. Here, even more Coins and Wilds are added. The Collect Meter resets following a non-winning spin.
Power Up feature
In the base game and free spins, various Power Up symbols can appear and award the following extras:

Super Free Spins feature

Coin Quest 2 Verdict: this cluster pays adventure has it all
The original Coin Quest was very popular so the Coin Quest 2 slot game was under pressure to deliver. Visually, the graphics and animations have improved with much more detail available in the backdrops and symbols.
With Avalanches and cluster pays, the grid size has increased from 5×5 to 6×6 in size. The Coin Cluster feature is still available as is the Collect Meter feature. Slotmill has added the Power Up feature where you can benefit from meter charges, extra wilds and coins as well as transforming symbols and extra coins with a multiplier applied. The concept is similar to the feature symbols added in Lucy Luck and the Temple of Mysteries.
Then you have the Free Spins and Super Free Spins features which come with a progressive win multiplier. In the original slot, the win multiplier can increase by up to 20x though. That said, the Coin Quest 2 slot offers 15,000 x bet max wins as opposed to the 10,000 x bet in the first outing.
