There’s a slight manga-style to the design in the Neopunk ChargeUp™ slot that I really liked. The setting is a laboratory filled with electrical-inspired paraphernalia.
Set against a purple backdrop, the reels contain lower-value royal ranks as well as raygun, spanner, glove and robot symbols. The smiling alien astronaut is wild. This can appear on all 5 reels and substitutes for all the standard symbols. Finally, there’s an energy charger. This is the bonus symbol.
Neon is everywhere. It’s all very bright and colourful, but there’s no mistaking any of the symbols.
The synth-heavy soundtrack fits the futuristic theme nicely. The backing track didn’t quite reach earworm level, but it’s catchy enough and complements the theme perfectly. Neopunk ChargeUp™ Verdict: Decent Features But Disappointing Numbers
I rather enjoyed playing Neopunk ChargeUp™. The sound and visuals are excellent, and the features offer some entertaining gameplay. The wild extras impress once you’ve filled the ChargeUp™ Meter. As does the multiplier, which can boost payouts on each free spin by up to 5x. So far, so good.
Then, it’s a shame about the numbers. The 761x max win is very low compared to most new slots. The RTP of 94% is also pretty underwhelming.
This is almost a really good slot and feels like a bit of a missed opportunity.
