Iron Dog Studio returns to Canyon Country in Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra slot, a sequel to the Native American-themed classic, Wolf Strike. Coming out June 11, 2025, it features refreshed visuals and familiar vibrant animal symbols across 5 reels with 10 paylines. The Hold and Win mechanic is at the centre of the action, awarding multipliers and 4 fixed jackpots. This includes a 5,000x Grand prize for a full grid. Find out how the slot comes around in my Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra review.

Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits

The Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra slot game retains the 5×3 grid layout from the original Wolf Strike release. But here, you have 10 fixed paylines. As with most regular online slots, winning combinations are created by landing 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels.

Enter the Canyon with bet levels as low as 10p, rising to £50 per spin—not exactly favourable for big spenders. You can adjust your stake by tapping the chips button below the grid.

Activating the autoplay function gives you access to 5 to 99 autospins, and you can toggle the quickspin button for faster gameplay. Keep in mind that these options are unavailable at UK online casinos.

Like the prequel, Iron Dog Studio disappoints with the Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra RTP, set at 95.1%. Certainly, it won’t compete with the best payout slots out there. Although I didn’t come across lower RTP variants, I recommend playing at the best Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra casinos for the highest return rate.

With medium volatility, you have better chances of hitting wins frequently compared to high-variance slots. Besides, the Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra max win of 5,000x is decent, offering a £250,000 win on a max bet. However, it won’t rank among the best real money slots.

You can have a feel of the Hold and Win feature in the Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra demo version before playing for real money. It is your best shot at the top prize, and the demo is available in our free online slots library.

Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra Theme—Wolves and Other Wildlife Coexisting in a Canyon

While canyons aren’t wolves’ natural habitat, the provider once again sets the scene of this Native American-themed slot among steep valleys. However, this time, you don’t get a view of the golden hour, a tranquil river, or colourful skies. Instead, you watch a galaxy of twinkling stars from tree-covered hills.

I like that the grid subtly moves around the hills as you spin the reels, though it looks more like an illusion. The glowing full moon on the reels and vibrant symbols also add more appeal to the visuals.

The soundtrack is quite repetitive and dramatic, featuring mainly drums and an ancient flute. It doesn’t really complement the theme, in my opinion, so I wouldn’t blame you if you hit the mute button.

The paying symbols haven’t changed much from the original—playing cards offer low payouts as compared to symbols of wildlife. Like many new online slots, it features bonus symbols and a Wild.

Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra Mobile Slot

If you enjoy playing your favourite titles on mobile, the Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra mobile slot should be your preferred route. It is compatible with iOS and Android devices and has an intuitive interface that adjusts to small screens.

With the landscape mode on mobile casinos, I got a wide view and didn’t miss out on any detail. On the other hand, the portrait view offered a bigger grid at the expense of the striking background visuals.

Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra Bonus Features

The Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra slot game is not one of those titles with packed bonus features. In fact, it only offers the familiar Hold and Win round with fixed jackpots and a Coin Shower feature.

Hold and Win Feature

The game features three types of Bonus symbols: a Special Bonus symbol, a Special Collector symbol, and Hold and Win Prize symbols (Mini, Minor, and Major). Landing any combination of 6 of these symbols triggers the Hold and Win feature. The triggering symbols and the additional ones that appear during the round remain sticky on the reels.

You are awarded 3 Respins at the start, and hitting more Bonus symbols resets the spin counter. The Special Bonus symbol displays random cash values between 1x and 500x the bet, which is collected by the Special Collector symbol. It also collects Hold and Win Jackpots:

A multiplier value can appear in a random position, multiplying the Special Bonus value that lands in that position. If you are lucky enough to land multiple multipliers in the same position, they add up before applying to a cash value.

Filling up the reels with Bonus symbols instantly unlocks the Grand Jackpot of 5,000x the bet and returns to the base game.

Coin Shower

If you are familiar with the provider’s 3 Plucky Hens or Cleopatra Wilds: Hold and Win, you must already know how the Coin Shower feature works. Exactly 6 Bonus symbols can randomly shower down on the reels, triggering the Hold and Win feature.

Note that this can only happen if at least 1 Bonus symbol is in sight and no other bonus is active.

Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra Verdict: No Significant Improvement from the Original Release

2.7/5
Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra Slot
Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra delivers sharp visuals and simple gameplay, which relies on the Hold and Win mechanic. However, it doesn’t exactly stand out from the initial release and might not offer fresh excitement.

Sequels are generally created to improve upon several aspects of the original release. However, during my Wolf Strike Hold N’ Win Extra review, it was difficult to pinpoint significant improvements over its prequel. The most disappointing is that the RTP still remains below the industry average of 96%.

Considering the game’s title, it’s no surprise that the provider has focused solely on the Hold and Win feature. Still, it doesn’t quite justify the absence of the generous free spins we enjoyed in the original. Moreover, the execution of the Hold and Win feature is not much different from what I have seen numerous times.

The Grand Jackpot is an upside. You can unlock it by filling up the reels with bonus symbols during respins. This is a clear upgrade from the 2x multiplier value previously awarded.

For more adventure with wildlife in native American hills, try Bison Moon Megaways by Northern Lights Gaming. It uses the Megaways mechanic and offers multipliers, free spins, and a 10,000x the bet max win.

Howl your way to huge rewards in Wolf Gold Power Jackpot by Pragmatic Play, where 4 progressive jackpots and stunning visuals collide for an electrifying slot experience. With bonus-packed gameplay and community-powered prizes, every spin could lead to a golden win.
