There are more reels than in standard online slots here, with the Tiger DoubleMax™ slot game by ReelPlay and Hot Rise Games using a 6×3 grid. It’s nice to see something slightly different, and with 729 paylines, it has more in common with Megaways slots than typical 3-row games. You must hit at least 3 matching symbols on a payline to create a win, with 6 offering the largest payouts.
The stake limits are also outside of the ordinary in the Tiger DoubleMax™ slot game. It starts at 25p and goes up to £25, so it might not be appealing to high rollers. The game allowed me to set my stake at £1 in the Tiger DoubleMax™ demo, which is my standard free slots wager. There’s no turbo spin, but as long as you’re not playing at a UK online casino, there is an autoplay. Both the stake and spin controls are to the right of the reels.

Instead of resetting between spins, the multiplier retains its value unless the next spin is a losing one. If it is, then it halves the multiplier value. It means 2 or 3 wins in a row can lead to carrying over a significant multiplier. If you land 3 or more scatters during the round, you gain 10 extra spins.

I like cascading reels and DoubleMax™ mechanics. However, Tiger DoubleMax™ doesn’t bring enough new ideas to the table to stand out. There are other games that keep the multipliers fully locked in bonus rounds, and I think this is what is missing here. It’s a shame, as there’s some potential, but ReelPlay hasn’t really built on it.
It’s not a bad game overall. There’s lots to like, and if you’ve not played a DoubleMax™ game before, it’s worth a try. However, there are better games using this mechanic that offer much larger wins.
If you’re experienced with DoubleMax™ slots, then I’d recommend sticking to the other options that you’ve already played. For new players, there’s enough here to keep you interested, but you’ll soon want to try something more substantial. Fortunately, there are other games that take things up a notch.
