Retro Returns Mobile Slot
There’s no difference between the desktop version and the mobile casino version. It keeps all controls in the same place, and I couldn’t tell any difference between the graphics. All sounds are just as clear, too, making it an excellent conversion.
It works fine in portrait or landscape mode, with the 5×5 grid fitting to either orientation. I usually lean towards landscape as my way of playing, but there’s very little between them for Retro Returns.
Retro Returns Bonus Features
There are a lot of Retro Returns bonus features. They cover the base game and bonus rounds, helping to make it more exciting due to the high volatility.
Collect Feature
Whenever tape symbols land on the reels, they appear with a value of up to 500x on them. If they appear with a collect symbol, it collects the value of all tapes and awards a payout. It helps to reduce the volatility slightly, which is needed with just 19 paylines. Wild symbols appear with multipliers too, and if they’re within a 3×3 space of the tapes, they increase their value by that multiplier.
Rewind Feature
On any losing spin where landing 1 special symbol would award a feature, the rewind feature can trigger. It will respin the reels with at least 1 symbol changed, potentially awarding a bonus.

I had a great time playing Retro Returns. It took me on a trip back to my youth, when I’d go to Blockbuster to rent a film. It adds some fantastic features, with the wilds, cash collects, and Free Spins all offering engaging experiences. The max win of 5,000x is decent, but it’s not quite level with what the best new releases offer.
My only real annoyance here is with the paylines. I don’t think 19 is enough for a 5×3 game, let alone one with a 5×5 grid. It really drives home how volatile it is, which will put off new players instantly. Despite this, it’s still fun to play, and you get used to the limited paylines after a while. For anyone who remembers video rental stores, Retro Returns is a game worth trying.
