Head to the plains of Africa and join a tribe as you spin away in the hunt for riches. It looks like the reels are set somewhere in the Serengeti, which spans the Mara and Arusha regions of Tanzania. The visuals are fairly basic but it works well with the sun beaming through in the background in between the trees.

The soundtrack fits the theme well with some traditional instruments and sounds to complement the gameplay. Again, it’s fairly basic overall but there’s no need to overcomplicate things here as there’s already a lot going on.

On the reels, the A-J Royals make up the lower-paying symbols. The mid-range symbols include necklaces, drums, elephants and lions. There’s always a danger of a slot with this mechanic being released and players thinking ‘not another Megaways’. You’d be forgiven for thinking the same reading this review, but there is enough happening here to give this an above-average rating.

While the RTP rate may look low at 95.5%, it’s quite typical to see figures in the 95% range when it comes to Megaways slots. They’ve made up for it here with 10,000 x max wins, a hit frequency of 29.5% and some great bonus features. Volatility levels are high (8/10) but at least they’re not at the highest possible level.

As well as the classic Megaways action, there are numerous base game modifiers that mix things up enough to excite you and there’s also a fun Free Spins feature with even more special features and an unlimited multiplier. However, I can’t ignore the fact that the Free Spins feature will trigger 1 in every 357 spins on average. I found it a struggle to trigger just once during testing and I felt like I went above the spin threshold by quite a way.
