Dr Zappo™ Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits
The moment I loaded up the Dr Zappo™ slot, I knew it was a Hacksaw Gaming title. The 5×4 layout and 14 paylines are typical of games from them. I’d prefer a higher number of paylines; it’s pretty low for modern online slots. You need to land at least 3 matching symbols for a win, so it uses standard slot mechanics.
You can stake between 10 and £100 in the Dr Zappo™ slot game. It’s around the levels of the best slots online, but you have to remember that UK online casinos have capped stakes at £5 per spin. Like most new slots from Hacksaw, it uses a control panel in the bottom right corner. You can set your stake, spin the reels, and turn on autoplay here. Autoplay isn’t accessible in the UK, though.
The standard RTP is 96.31%, which is a decent level for most slots. Unfortunately, there are Dr Zappo™ RTP ranges. It can drop as low as 86.22%, so it’s imperative that you check UK online casinos for the highest rate. It’s a medium volatility game, but it felt higher than that when I was putting together my Dr Zappo™ review.
You can get a Dr Zappo™ max win of up to 10,000x the stake. It’s solid, especially for the volatility, but doesn’t compete with the biggest progressive jackpot slots. My best win was just over 400x my stake in the Dr Zappo™ demo. You can definitely get higher than that with a bit of luck, and the free slots game is at the beginning of this review if you want to give it a shot.
Dr Zappo™ Theme—Quirky and Zany, with Trademark Hacksaw Style
If you’ve played any Hacksaw Gaming slots in the past, you’ll instantly feel comfortable with Dr Zappo™. The visuals have the same style as a lot of other Hacksaw titles, with a colourful, cartoon style in place. It works well, particularly as the game is based on a mad scientist. The background looks fantastic, showing off the street where Dr Zappo’s experiments run wild.
The sounds at Dr Zappo™ casinos are excellent. They fit in with the theme superbly, and help to set the wacky scene. It’s an overall superb theme, which is expected of Hacksaw Gaming at this point.

Dr Zappo™ Mobile Slot
The Dr Zappo™ mobile slot is superbly designed. It retains the colours from the desktop game, uses a similar control scheme, and the layout is almost identical. I didn’t notice any slowdown while I was playing, and it was just as responsive as the desktop version. There’s no change in the symbol quality on a smaller screen, with everything looking sharp, even with things squashed down slightly.
It works equally well in portrait and landscape modes. Both have advantages over the other one, with landscape having better control placement and portrait having slightly clearer reels. However you like to play mobile casino games will impact which version you prefer to play.

There are Dr Zappo™ bonus features that expand from the base game into bonus rounds.
Eyeball Wild
The Eyeball Wild can land on any reel and always appears on the fourth row. It will shoot either diagonally left or right, or straight up. It will leave wild symbols in the space behind it until it hits the edge of the reels. If there’s an energy field on the outside of the reels, it will bounce the eyeball back, adding multipliers to any wilds it hits. Eyeball Wilds can randomly shoot twice in two different directions.
Eyeconic Free Spins
Landing 3 scatter symbols awards the Eyeconic Free Spins. You get 10 spins with a boosted chance of landing Eyeball Wilds. Landing 2 or 3 scatters during the feature will add 2 or 4 spins to your total.
No Brainer Free Spins
Landing 4 scatter symbols awards the No Brainer Free Spins. They’re the same as the Eyeconic spins, but Eyeball Wilds will always shoot in two directions.

Dr Zappo™ Verdict: Interesting Idea with Limited Paylines
Dr Zappo™ has some nice features on show, but the limited paylines and formulaic Hacksaw approach let it down slightly.
Dr Zappo™ is a relatively fun slot, with the Eyeball Wild being a highlight. However, with just 14 paylines on offer, it can be frustrating to play. Although it advertises a medium volatility, it feels much higher. I think a few more paylines or cascading reels would make it a lot more exciting.
That’s not to say it’s a bad game. I really enjoyed hitting the Free Spins rounds, although I never managed to land the secret round. The Eyeball Wild can create some big wins here, making it exciting. If it added either of my suggestions, I’d probably put this in my top 10 for the year. It’s still worth trying out, but probably won’t make your must-pay list.
