Gorilla Go Wild Slot Review
Gorilla Go Wild is a NextGen Gaming slot with 5 reels and 25 paylines. Playable from 25p to £50 a spin, this game is available to play on mobile and tablet devices. The slot uses Evolving Gameplay which means that it becomes more exciting the more you play. Centred on the grooviest gorilla Gary, it benefits from superb graphics and animations.
It has an animal/jungle theme with friendly jungle characters and has a cartoon style to it. Gary the Gorilla is the host whose personality shines through as you play. Set in a lush jungle, the soundtrack is one of a funky disco so it has a retro vibe which I quite like.
In terms of features, Gorilla Go Wild has plenty to offer. There are randomly triggered features in the base game which all involve Gary. There’s Gary’s Bonus Time feature where Gary may reward you with a cash prize with up to 40 times your stake or entry into Gary the Gorilla’s Feature Kingdom feature. Gary Goes Bananas feature sees Gary eating a banana which will advance to a new area of the jungle – every time this happens, the frequency of the Gary’s Bonus Time feature increases.
Gary the Gorilla’s Feature Kingdom feature is triggered when get 3 or more temple symbols. Here you get a choice of features but some are available once you trigger it a certain amount of times. You have the Gorillionaire Win Spins feature which is played from the 1st trigger. Anyway, here you will get 10 winning spins with a 2x multiplier with the possibility of retriggering the feature (Gary can do this).
The Stay Wild feature is available to choose after the 5th trigger – here you will get 10 free spins with all wilds appearing remaining in place for all free spins (sticky wilds!). The feature can be retriggered too. The Mega-Rilla Multiplier feature is available after the 10th trigger with 10 free spins awarded. The multiplier starts at 1x but increase by 1 up to a maximum of 10x for every wild that appears. This feature can also be retriggered.
Lastly there is the More Wilds feature which can be played after the 15th trigger. Again, you will get 10 free spins but up to 3 symbols (excluding the Temple symbol) can change to a wild. The feature can also retrigger with Gary the Gorilla randomly doing this.
Let me catch my breath! There’s a lot of bonus features in Gorilla Go Wild but as you can see, you can potentially win more the more you play. I quite like unlockable free games features (like Games Global’s Immortal Romance) but the best thing is that the RTP (return to player %) increases from 92.5% to 96.5% as the game progresses. This is represented by the evolving crown and location change. There is a Banana Meter which shows you your progress!
I found Gorilla Go Wild to be a medium to high variance slot which big wins available. The biggest win in the base game is a mere 50 times your stake but the real action is in the free spins features where there’s up to 750 times your stake if you’re lucky! My favourite features are the Stay Wild feature due to possibility of sticky wilds. I think NextGen Gaming has created a very good slot here and on par with the branded Psycho which was released at the same time.
