As for The Spin Lab® max win, it’s still undisclosed. NextGen Gaming hasn’t shared many details, but from my time playing The Spin Lab® demo, I could tell it has plenty of potential. That’s especially with the customisable bonus round, which I’ll cover in more depth later on.

The Spin Lab® looks like a high-tech experiment brought to life. A glowing digital grid is the background, all made up of neon blue circuitry and hexagonal patterns. It all gives the sense that you’re standing inside some room where everything pulses with data and life.

Animations flicker and hum, and while there’s no background music, each win triggers short, retro-style celebrations.

When it comes to symbols, you’ll see neon-style card icons from 9 to A acting as the lower-paying ones. Such a concept is pretty common among other free slots. Then, the high pays move into science territory, featuring molecules, atoms, a DNA strand, and a glowing cube. A Wild symbol also replaces everything except the Scatter and a Scatter orb that triggers the bonus.

The Spin Lab® brings science and casino gameplay together in a clever way. While the slightly below-average RTP may hold it back a little, the unique bonus system has plenty of draw. It’s one of the rare slots that actually gives you control.

What we liked

Aesthetically, it’s all glowing blue grids with flickering neon lines and DNA patterns looping behind the reels. Meanwhile, with the volatility in the medium-to-high range, wins didn’t land frequently. However, when they did, they were certainly worth the wait. The only drawback is the RTP, which sits at around 95.93%.

That said, I have to hand it to The Spin Lab® for how neatly it ties the science theme into the whole customisation side of things. The feature pick setup in the bonus round isn’t something you see every day. It’s clear NextGen wanted me to feel like I’m running my own little experiment each time it triggers.
