In 9K Yeti Gold™, we get a spinning wheel attached to the left side of the grid (on desktops), rather than above it as in the progressive slot version. Still, it doesn’t outrank the design of a fierce Yeti standing beside the grid in 90K Yeti! Gigablox in my books.
The visuals are vibrant with plenty of realistic details; you might have to grab a winter coat. The deep blue reels carry all sorts of creepiness and animations during bonus features.
We get a mythical tune of cultural drums and horns combined with whistling wind for the soundtrack. It isn’t the most original, but at least I wasn’t tempted to hit the mute button.

9K Yeti Gold™ Mobile Slot
As we have seen in the previous Yeti titles, 9K Yeti Gold™ holds up nicely on mobile casinos. Although there’s a lot going on on the reels and Mount Everest in the background, the visuals adapt to smaller screens without looking cluttered.
Performance-wise, I didn’t notice delayed loading times, and the controls were responsive, sitting beneath the grid. I typically enjoy my best online slots in landscape mode, and this one follows suit—but that’s a personal choice.

The 9K Yeti Gold™ slot game comes with 5 bonus features. They include Snowstorm and Avalanche features, a Free Spins round, a Fortune Wheel with jackpots, and Bonus Buy options.
Snowstorm
Gold Coins can randomly overlay any paying symbol on the reel. When it lands on reel 1 in the base game, and there are at least 2 Yeti symbols in view, it triggers the Snowstorm feature.
The Snowstorm shuffles the reels to create a Yeti winning combination.
Avalanche
If you’ve played the Dream Drop version, you must already know that the Avalanche feature has nothing to do with cascading reels or tumbling reels common in Megaways slots. Land a gold coin on reel 6 for a shot at triggering the Avalanche feature.
Here, 1, 2, or 3 Yeti stacks are thrown onto the reels, guaranteeing a Yeti winning combination with at least one stack.
Free Spins
As usual with many online slots, landing 3 or more scatters triggers the Free Spins bonus round. 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters award 8, 15, 40, or 88 free spins, respectively. During the bonus round, you’ve got better chances of triggering the Avalanche and Snowstorm features.
Even more, you can retrigger free spins by landing more footprint scatters. 3, 4, 5, or 6 retriggers 5, 8, 15, or 50 spins, respectively. This means you can get up to 138 free spins on a lucky outing.
While I tested the demo, I was lucky enough to land 3 scatters with my first 10 spins, but finished the round with a payout of just 16x my stake—quite discouraging. The wins bumped up on subsequent triggers, though.
Boosting Fortunes
At the top of the reels 2–5, you’ll find 4 Fortune prizes. Each prize increases by between 0.05x and 0.5x whenever a gold coin lands on its reel. The prizes are:

At the end of the feature, the Fortune prizes reset to their seed values. Note that the Fortune Bonus can only be triggered from the base game.

9K Yeti Gold™ Verdict: A Snowy Trek with Interesting Gameplay
Slot providers typically roll out regular online slots before their progressive jackpot versions, but 4ThePlayer has followed the unusual order with 9K Yeti Gold™. Still, there’s no reason to complain, as it never feels like putting the cart before the horse.
Visually, it’s brilliant. It sticks to the usual snowy Himalayan formula, yet it doesn’t feel generic or tired. It gets even better with the animations during the Avalanche and Snowstorm features.
Speaking of which, the Avalanche and Snowstorm features are stars of the base game. I triggered them quite often, which is in sharp contrast to the Fortune Wheel with 4 increasing prizes.
Furthermore, the free spins round left me with mixed feelings. While it’s generous, it doesn’t introduce anything fresh.
Overall, 9K Yeti Gold™ is worth the bumpy ride up the hill, but it doesn’t particularly outshine its Dream Drop sibling.
