Waves of Poseidon Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits
There are 6 reels in the Waves of Poseidon slot. It’s a 6×5 grid and uses scatter pays to create wins. There aren’t a lot of online slots with this mechanic, as many use cluster pays. Landing at least 8 symbols anywhere on the reels creates a win, and cascades can continue to create additional payouts like in most Megaways slots.
There’s a lot of variation in stake options in the Waves of Poseidon slot game. Like a lot of new slots, it starts at 20p, but it goes all the way up to £240. I played with £1 in the free slots version, making bankroll management easier. You can set the stake in the bottom right, and the stake controls surround the spin button. There is an autoplay function, but it’s unavailable to UK online casino users.
The Waves of Poseidon RTP is above average at 96.55%. Unfortunately, as is often the case now, there are RTP ranges. If you want to avoid the lowest rate of 94.5%, you’ll need to check the best UK online casinos. It has a high volatility, which I noticed while playing the Waves of Poseidon demo.
There’s a possible Waves of Poseidon max win of up to 5,000x your stake. It’s slightly low, especially when compared to online progressive slots. I managed some good wins while creating my Waves of Poseidon review, and claimed over 3,500x my stake. I managed this in the Super Free Spins, and it’s definitely the best-paying feature.
Waves of Poseidon Theme—An Old School Slot Take on Poseidon
Visually, Waves of Poseidon looks slightly dated. However, it’s not a big issue as the graphics are so well done. It might seem strange for a game based on mythology, but they look realistic. Pragmatic Play has put a lot of work into crafting great-looking graphics that stand out on the screen. There’s a lot of colour here, which helps to keep things ticking over.
When loading up Waves of Poseidon casinos, you’ll notice the sounds seem to have an underwater effect applied to them. It’s a really nice touch that adds to immersion and shows the level of detail Pragmatic Play has put in. It feels a little bit like a game from the classic era of slots, but with a modern twist.

Waves of Poseidon Mobile Slot
There are very few issues with the Waves of Poseidon mobile slot. It retains its smooth gameplay, with controls sticking in the same position. It’s just as responsive, so there’s no slowdown from the desktop version. It gives mobile casino players a colourful experience, so there’s nothing lost for the small screen.
Waves of Poseidon Bonus Features
Although I enjoy the Waves of Poseidon bonus features, there’s only a small amount of innovation here. Scatter pays and cascades make the base game interesting, and there are a few other aspects that give it a boost.
Multiplier Meter
There’s a multiplier meter on the left of the screen at all times. Whenever you begin cascades, the bubble on the meter rises up. It can reach a maximum of 20, but bonus symbols can land that multiply the total. They can be worth up to 50, meaning there’s the potential for huge multipliers. When the cascades end, the multiplier is applied to the total win, and then the multiplier resets for the next spin.
Free Spins
When you land at least 4 scatters, it begins the Free Spins feature. 4 scatters awards 10 spins, 5 scatters awards 15, and 6 scatters awards 20. If you land another scatter during the Free Spins, it awards 1 extra spin. Landing 6 scatters also triggers Super Free Spins, which don’t reset the multiplier modifiers on the meter, increasing the chance of bigger payouts.
Bonus Buy (Unavailable in the UK)
You can double your stake for each spin, which will permanently unlock the multiplier reel. For 100x your stake, you can trigger the Free Spins feature, and for 500x your stake, you can trigger the Super Free Spins
Waves of Poseidon Verdict: Enjoyable but Missing Some Key Ingredients
Waves of Poseidon is a slot that’s obviously taken inspiration from other games that use scatter pays and cascading reels. The increasing multipliers are a common feature for these games, so it’s not much of a shock to see Pragmatic Play using them. Unfortunately, it feels like it’s missing a killer hook to make it a top-class game.
I think the main issue I have is the maximum payout. The multipliers can hit significant levels, which could potentially make the top win a lot higher. However, with a 5,000x cap, it means you could end up losing out on the upper parts of a win you’ve created. If Pragmatic Play increased the top payout for this game, I think it would get a much better score. If you enjoy scatter pay mechanics, this is worth a try, but there are other games like Gates of Olympus Super Scatter that blow the top win out of the water.
