There’s a multiplier meter on the left of the screen at all times. Whenever you begin cascades, the bubble on the meter rises up. It can reach a maximum of 20, but bonus symbols can land that multiply the total. They can be worth up to 50, meaning there’s the potential for huge multipliers. When the cascades end, the multiplier is applied to the total win, and then the multiplier resets for the next spin. 

Free Spins

When you land at least 4 scatters, it begins the Free Spins feature. 4 scatters awards 10 spins, 5 scatters awards 15, and 6 scatters awards 20. If you land another scatter during the Free Spins, it awards 1 extra spin. Landing 6 scatters also triggers Super Free Spins, which don’t reset the multiplier modifiers on the meter, increasing the chance of bigger payouts.

There’s a good range of features in Waves of Poseidon, and it’s enjoyable for most slot players. However, it falls short with its maximum win, which stops it from reaching its real potential.

Pros

• Multipliers can lead to some big wins

• Only 5,000x your stake is slightly small
• Increasing multipliers are a common feature

Waves of Poseidon is a slot that’s obviously taken inspiration from other games that use scatter pays and cascading reels. The increasing multipliers are a common feature for these games, so it’s not much of a shock to see Pragmatic Play using them. Unfortunately, it feels like it’s missing a killer hook to make it a top-class game. 

I think the main issue I have is the maximum payout. The multipliers can hit significant levels, which could potentially make the top win a lot higher. However, with a 5,000x cap, it means you could end up losing out on the upper parts of a win you’ve created. If Pragmatic Play increased the top payout for this game, I think it would get a much better score. If you enjoy scatter pay mechanics, this is worth a try, but there are other games like Gates of Olympus Super Scatter that blow the top win out of the water.
