The Viking Runecraft 100 slot is played on a 5×5 grid and uses the Cluster Pays mechanic. Wins are formed by landing 3 or more matching symbols on the grid in a row horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols are removed and the remaining symbols drop down to potentially form a new win. This continues until no new wins are formed or the grid is cleared. Theme – Ragnarok looms on the horizon
The theme here is typically Scandinavian, with the Gods from Norse mythology playing a big part as you work with them to lead the battle and protect Asgard from Evil. The reels are set in front of a mountainous backdrop, with the aurora from the Northern Lights beaming through. It’s very similar to the original Viking Runcraft slot. The visuals are good, the symbols are colourful, and I like that the Gods appear to the right of the reels and come to life when their power is activated.

We’ve seen a few of these 100-type slots now, and this one is essentially a reskin of Moon Princess 100. But I’d put it more along the lines of Rise of Olympus 100 with its similarities. The gameplay is as good as ever, the visuals are solid and the soundtrack isn’t bad either. When you add in an above-average RTP rate of 96.2% and 15,000 x max wins, you’ve got a very good slot on your hands.
The only real downside to the Viking Runecraft 100 slot is that there’s nothing unique here. We’ve seen it all before. Now that might be music some some players’ ears, and there’s nothing wrong with it at all. I just like to see something new every now and then. Still, the slot is great fun and I really enjoyed testing it. I must admit, however, that I did struggle to clear the grid, so don’t expect that to happen often.
