Theme – the chase is on
This game is based on a bank heist, which is kind of given away but the slot’s title. The setup is very similar to the original Vault Cracker slot but there are more reels here due to the Megaways mechanic. The symbols are the same, the visuals are the same and some of the features are the same.
It’s got a cartoony look to it, which is very popular with players. The reels are set in front of a huge vault, with money and expensive items on display everywhere in the background. The soundtrack fits the theme well with a nice melody as you spin away. Note that the audio goes quiet if you’re not spinning. But as soon as you hit the spin button, it increases in volume again.
On the reels, the A-10 Royals make up the lower-paying symbols. These are joined by higher-paying items – a gun, a piggy bank, a necklace and a bag of money. The money symbol is the most rewarding, paying 1, 1.5, 2.5 or 5 x your total stake for 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination.

Heist feature
This bonus feature is triggered when the Heist Master lands on the reels. Any Cash Safe symbols will lock in place along with the Heist Master and the unlimited Respins will begin. None of the usual paying symbols are present – on the Cash Safe, Scarlet Rougue and empty symbols will land during this bonus round.
Each reel, except the one where the Heist Master is, will receive a Hesit Multiplier equal to the number of symbols that are present on the reel. That multiplier can be anywhere between 2x and 7x.
If you manage to fill a reel with Cash Safe symbols, you will be awarded the multiplier for that reel. If you do this with more than 1 reel then those multipliers are added together. At the end of a Heist, all Cash Safes are then cracked open and you will win all of the prizes that are in there, multiplied by the sum of all Heist Multipliers. The bonus round ends when all symbol positions on the reels are filled with Cash Safes or by the Rivalry feature.
Rivalry feature
If Scarlet Rougue lands on the reels during the Heist feature, the Rivalry bonus wheel will be triggered. The wheel is divided into 6 green sectors. Each Scarlet Rogue symbol that lands during a Heist turns one of the sectors red for the rest of the bonus round, up to a maximum of 5 sectors. Landing on a green sector will continue to the bonus round. Landing on red will end it.

Vault Cracker Megaways Verdict – the max win lets it down
When testing the Vault Cracker Megaways slot game, I enjoyed the gameplay and the bonus features. It’s great to see plenty of action in the base game that can trigger other features rather than just a bog standard base game going into a typical Free Spins feature. If you’re a fan of the bank heist theme, you’ll enjoy this too for a while.
But what I can’t get past is the low max win potential of 2,484 x your total stake, the low RTP rate of 95.68% and the high volatility. With all 3 of those being negative aspects of this game, it affects its overall score. OK, so it’s much higher than the original Vault Cracker slot, which has 1,410 x max wins and an RTP rate of 95.66%. However, with so many other providers producing great games with huge max win potential, it really harms the potential for this one.
Overall, while I enjoyed the gameplay, I can’t look past the bad points, which is why it only gets a 3 out of 5 rating for me. If those negatives were improved, it would score much more highly as the gameplay is pretty good in my opinion.
