The design in Trick or Treat? is very nicely done – with a typical rural American house and a full moon in the background, the reels include A to 9 playing cards and a cast of people set in Halloween costumes. The best of them is the big-chinned man with the knife through his head who awards 500 coins if you land 5 on a payline.
There’s also a wild, the potion bottle, which awards up to 500 coins per payline. It replaces everything bar the scatter as per usual. Now onto the bonus features:
On any spin, the witch perched to the side of the reels can spring into life and turn a random number of reels wild. This is known as the Potion Wilds feature. Rounding out the extras is the progressive jackpot which can be awarded at random on any spin. Trick or Treat? is a very nice-looking game. The imagery is done 3D style and works very well. Likewise, the soundtrack is decent. The features aren’t anything we haven’t seen before but who doesn’t like free spins with stacked wilds, a pick me round and a shot at landing a progressive jackpot? Well we certainly do.
Leander Games hasn’t tried to reinvent the wheel with Trick or Treat? – it all works perfectly well and certainly lives up to the latter part of its name rather than the former.
