The Sweetopia Royale slot is a grid slot that comes with a 7×7 reel setup and uses the Cluster Pays mechanic. A cluster is formed by landing 4 or more matching symbols vertically or horizontally adjacent to each other. Clusters of different symbols that are vertically or horizontally adjacent to each other will combine to form a larger cluster. The cluster always combines into the highest value symbol before every respin.

Theme: candylicious
The theme is clear by the title without even loading the slot initially. Sweets, sweets, some cake and more sweets! The reels are set in front of a candy kingdom and it looks great. The visuals are good, with eye-catching colours dominating the grid.
The soundtrack isn’t great and I can’t decide if it fits the overall theme. It sounds quite suspenseful but it’s very repetitive. I wasn’t a fan of it in all honesty. Land the Free Spins feature and you’ll move inside a tower or a castle, with knights on either side of the reels as you spin away. The audio intensifies too. Simple but effective.
On the reels, different coloured hard-boiled sweets make up the lower-paying symbols. The higher-paying ones are all cakes, with the large pink cake being the most rewarding symbol. It pays 1 x bet for 4 in a cluster all the way up to 5,000 x bet for 49.

Random feature
As you spin away, a random feature can be triggered at the beginning or the end of a game round. If a random feature forms a win or enlarges a cluster, the game round continues. Here’s what you could get:

Verdict: looks great and plays great
I can’t help but compare everything to Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza as that always seems the sweet-themed benchmark due to its popularity. Sweetopia Royale might not hit those dizzy heights but it’s still a fun game to play and there are plenty of reasons why players will like this one. If you enjoy bonus features then you’re in for a treat as there are plenty on offer here from free spins and respins to numerous modifiers that can potentially lead to bigger wins.
Are there any negatives? Well, the 5,000 x bet max wins aren’t as high as some other slots on the market but it’s still not a bad figure. The RTP rate is slightly above average, which isn’t bad either. But you need to beware of the volatility as it’s super high and rated as 5 out of 5 by the provider. So don’t expect big wins too often. And if I was being picky, I would have liked to see another bonus feature as I feel that they’re all quite samey if that makes sense.al
