It’s impossible to ignore the Starburst inspiration in Super Wolf™. Skywind has worked hard to put its own spin on a classic. Everything has a neon shine to it, and it looks fantastic. I’ve always enjoyed playing Starburst, so I don’t mind that the gameplay feels cloned from that classic slot.

The sounds are good when you load up Super Wolf™ casinos, but I’d like more of a fanfare when you create a win. It just makes a whisper sound, which doesn’t match up to the ethereal tune playing during the game. Other than this minor issue, the aesthetics are overall positive.

Howlin’ Respins

Landing a stacked wolf wild on the middle three reels will trigger the Howlin’ Respins. You get a respin where the stacked wolf wild walks to the left of the reels and increases the multiplier. 

Where the stacked wolf wild lands decides on how many respins you get, and how high the multiplier can rise. The best result comes from landing the stacked wolf on the fourth reel for four respins with the multiplier rising to 5x. The third reel gives three respins, and the multiplier rises to 3x. Landing on the second reel gives two respins and a final 2x multiplier. You can’t land additional stacked wolf wilds during the respins.

Progressive Jackpot

If you land a win with any five of the lower-value symbols on a payline, it awards the progressive jackpot.

Super Wolf™ has some nice ideas, but the base game is too barren for it to stand out.

Super Wolf™ is a decent enough Starburst copy, but it just doesn’t have enough to make it stand out. The win here is bigger than the game that inspired it, but there are Starburst sequels that blow it out of the water.

Unfortunately, the gameplay isn’t exciting enough to make Super Wolf™ a must-play game. The base game is okay, and the Howlin’ Respins are a nice touch, but other than that, there’s not a lot happening. The slow play drags the game down slightly and stops it from being a standout slot. If you love Starburst clones, it’s worth trying, but otherwise, there are better games out there.
