Theme – retrofuturistic fun
You don’t get much better than Relax Gaming’s Money Train 4 slot when it comes to Steampunk-themed games. But I think the visuals here are superb and much better than many other slots on the market. I also love the bold colours used on the reels to make everything stand out.
Red Tiger’s Wheel of Amp slot from back in 2018 had a Steampunk feel but it’s like chalk and cheese when comparing that to this in terms of visuals. The way the reels rise from underwater at the very start is a nice touch. The cogs spinning around the grid are a great addition too along with the smoky but stunning backdrop.
The soundtrack is quite dramatic as you spin the reels and it fits the theme well. Land the Free Spins feature and the grid moves underwater with a similar soundtrack playing as you spin away.

Steam Squad Slot Review Summary – a little flat when it promised so much
Visually, this Steampunk adventure is great. I don’t mind the bonus features either as there’s more than just your standard Free Spins feature at least. We haven’t seen the Scatter Pays mechanic used in too many Red Tiger releases, so it’s refreshing to see it utilised again. One instant comparison I can make is with Sugar Monster, but that offers big max wins and is arguably more appealing.
When I consider the low RTP rate of 95.64% and the 3,235.4 x max wins, I can’t do anything other than put this in the ‘average’ category. The multipliers up to 100x are huge, but that doesn’t translate to payout size when you’re playing. I must admit that when I was thoroughly testing this game, I didn’t land any big wins of note and struggled to trigger the Free Spins feature.
