The Space Stacks slot takes place on a 10×10 grid and uses a MultiBet system. The idea is that you can bet on specific reels/columns to win that would in turn return different payouts based on the type of bet placed. It allows you to split your bet between different Instant Prize Blocks, Bonus Feature Blocks and the Max Block. There are 10 different Blocks to bet on. A win is achieved by filling a particular Block.

When it comes to bet options, you will see 1p, 10p, £1, £10 or £100 casino chips. Click on 1 or more Blocks to add a bet to that Block. ReelBets feature

As touched on above, the MultiBet system is known as the ReelBets feature. You choose the value of each casino chip you wish to bet. Once you’ve chosen a chip, place your bet on 1 or more betting blocks by clicking or tapping the appropriate betting block.

Enhancement feature

The feature randomly chooses 1 or more enhancements each time. This consists of multiplier and additional values being applied to the Instant Prize Blocks:

Now, the Instant Prize Blocks are multipliers of the bet amount placed on that chosen block. The only exception is the MAX Block which is worth 5,000 x your total bet. If you manage to fill the respective column to the top, that Instant Prize associated with that block is won.

Feature Blocks

There are 3 Feature Blocks in the Space Stacks slot. If you fill the respective column, you will trigger their respective bonus feature. Here’s what to expect:

Astro feature: this is an Instant Prize Wheel with 32 segments. These include Bet Multipliers, Instant Prizes and Collect. Multipliers range from 2x to 100x and Instant Prizes range from +2 to +1,000. You get to spin the wheel until you land on a Collect segment which then ends the feature.

Flip feature: you will play on a 6×6 grid with selectable prize tiles. Prizes include Rocket symbols and Instant Prize bet multipliers. The latter can be as high as 1,000 x bet. You basically make 3 picks to win prizes. If you land a Rocket symbol, the total win multipliers is unlocked beginning at 2x. Every extra Rocket increases the total win multiplier to 5x, 10x and 100x.

Apex feature: here, you enter a new stacking feature with all 6 Instant Prize Blocks with new values. The starting value of the pots are 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x and 20x respectively. The Enhancement feature then takes place. Symbols drop and start filling up the columns like in the base game. If you fill a column, that prize will be collected. When a second column is filled, the prize multiplies the collected prize. Then 3 lives are activated. If no symbols land, a life is removed. This continues until all lives have been taken away.

The Space Stacks slot is not a conventional video slot by any stretch of the imagination. Hats off to Push Gaming for trying something completely unique and different. They’ve picked the space theme correctly though as they are no boundaries in outer space (that we know of).

At first glance, Space Stacks looks like a grid slot. It’s anything but. The game is all about the ReelBets feature where you bet on 1 or columns/betting blocks. If you manage to fill the column(s) you’ve bet on, you’ll win the associated prize. The Enhancements feature sees Instant Prize Blocks increase in value with addition values up to 1,000 x bet and multipliers up to 100x applied. The only Block not affected is the MAX Block which remains constant at 5,000 x bet.

Then you have the 3 Feature Blocks where you spin a wheel for prizes and play on a 6×6 grid with prizes and Rockets which add win multipliers up to 100x. The Apex feature is an enhanced version of the base game basically with higher starting Instant Prize Blocks prizes (bar the MAX Block).

With an overall RTP of 96.23% and 5,000 x bet max wins, Space Stacks may not offer enough big win potential to pique your interest. However, the volatility is in the medium bracket so it’s not going to send your balance deep into orbit. It’s important to state that the max win is won on average every 5,205 spins. If you compare to Play ‘n GO’s Book of Dead, the max win of 5,000 x bet is achieved every 3.7 million spins.

The Space Stacks slot game gives you an opportunity to try something completely new in the online slots world (albeit in outer space). I’m pretty certain ReelBets will appear in future Push Gaming slots so it’s a good idea to get acquainted with it now.

The question is whether you will spread your bets equally amongst the various Blocks or wager more on the Feature or MAX Blocks. Space Stacks is similar to roulette where you choose where you think the ball will land on. You can choose a specific number or opt for even/odd numbers, first/second/third 12 numbers or more.

In summary, Push Gaming have created some totally unique in Space Stacks. It will take some time to get used to the mechanic/gameplay. What is for certain is that playing the demo is a must. That said, UK players not having Autoplay and Turbo Mode when playing for real money is a big disadvantage for this particular game.
