Stakelogic has done a great job with the theme, mainly for sticking to their guns and matching the expectations of the theme.

Serpent Cage Verdict: Nice Ideas, but Missing Too Much
I like how Serpent Cage chooses to feature two of the most popular bonus rounds. Free Spins and a Hold and Win round are an excellent starting point. However, 40 paylines on a 5×5 grid just isn’t enough for me. This game really needs Megaways or even just a win-all-ways mechanic.
When you get into the maths behind the slot, the maximum win is much too low. It’s extremely volatile, meaning there can be big gaps between wins. I played over 1,000 spins and had to use bonus buy to try the Hold and Win feature, that’s how volatile it is. If it added more paylines and increased the top payout, it could be one of the best games of the year. Unfortunately, without those additions, it falls short with a score of 3.8/5.
