The Scales of Dead slot looks a bit boring compared to some of Play’n GO’s other ‘Book of…’ releases. Whilst the pyramids in the background look great, we do miss exploring the dark tombs found in the likes of Legacy of Dead and Pilgrim of Dead.
In terms of gameplay, it’s all about the Sandstorm Free Spins feature. If you manage to make it there, the key to winning big is the expanding symbols with multipliers. Overall, Scales of Dead is a decent instalment to the series, but nothing we’re overly excited about. In contrast to other ‘Book of…’ slots, we’re not sure that Play’n GO has put enough of a twist on the mechanics to make it something really special.
