Much like the original Rise of Atlantis slot, the Rise of Atlantis 2 slot is played on 6 reels and 5 rows with a cluster pays mechanism. That said, the layout can grow to 6×8 during bonus features.
Wins are created by landing 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the reels, and you’ll also benefit from a cascading reels mechanism. This means that all symbols that contribute to a win are removed from the reels, making way for new ones.

Whilst the graphics are a little sharper this time, we do wish Blueprint Gaming had come up with something a little more original.

Rising Multipliers Feature
During the base game, the Rising Multiplier feature may trigger at random. When this happens, a multiplier worth between 2 and 100x may float up to a random position on the reels. If a cascade then occurs, the values of all multipliers are added together, and applied to the total win from the cascade.
Once all payouts are processed, the multiplier will float to the above position, where it can be used again. This will continue until the multiplier reaches the top row and then floats off the grid. So, if you land a multiplier on the bottom row, for example, you can benefit from it for 5 spins.
Poseidon’s Call Feature
After any win in the base game, there’s a chance that Poseidon will add an extra row to the game grid. If on the next spin, a win is achieved again, there’s a chance another row might be added too. This can continue until the grid grows to a maximum of 8 rows high.

Free Spins Feature
Land 4 or more scatter Bonus symbols in the base game, and you trigger the Free Spins feature. The number of spins you receive depends on how many scatters you collected. You will be given 12, 15, or 20 free spins for 4, 5 or 6 scatters, respectively.
Once the feature begins, there are two main differences to the base game to look out for. Firstly, during free spins, the rising multipliers can have values of up to 1,000x. As they float up the reels, their value also increases each time they move up a position.
The second big difference is that the grid grows in size after every winning spin, up to a maximum of 6×8. Finally, you can retrigger the feature by landing more scatters. An extra 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters on the reels gives you an extra 5, 7, 10, or 15 free spins, respectively.

Ok, let’s get the downsides out of the way. The graphics are a little boring and we’re just near enough exhausted of ancient civilization and mythology-themed slots. However, there are plenty of positives to counteract those statements.
In terms of new things, we enjoyed the Poseidon’s Call feature and the fact the game grid could expand. As this allows you extra space for symbols to land, it can significantly improve your chances of forming a big scatter win.
The most valuable improvement is definitely the Rising Multiplier values. In the original slot they were limited to a maximum of 500 x your stake, whereas in this version they are doubled to 1,000 x stake. Strangely, however, max wins remain at 10,000 x stake.
Overall, the Rise of Atlantis 2 slot is fun and pacy. It’s an improvement on the original, and on many other scatter pays slots around.
