The Release the Kraken 2 slot has been visually improved significantly compared to the original game. With a darker and more sinister feel, there is a lot more detail in the symbols and animations. However, that’s where the positives end I’m afraid.

Like the original, there are 3 randomly triggered features in the base game. They do differ so it’s down to personal taste. The best of them is the Shifting Stacked Wilds feature where you can get Kraken Wild reels with an increasing multiplier.

The bigger wins will come in the Free Spins feature. Like the Roaming Kraken Free Spins feature in the original game, you pick from treasure chests. However, you can reveal free spins and multipliers whilst the multiplier begins at 1x in the original.

Played on 40 paylines, you will be awarded 1 of the combinations if you go straight in and play. The best combination is 20 free spins with a 10x multiplier which is hard to come by. Kraken Wilds become roaming wilds but look out for Golden Kraken Wilds increase the multiplier up to 10x.

Overall, the Release the Kraken 2 slot is visually better than the original. I personally prefer the bonus features and little tweaks. That said, the RTP is substantially lower as to is the max win:

I’m not quite sure why a provider would create a sequel with much lower win potential. Release the Kraken offers double the win potential as well as a 0.47% increase in RTP. For those 2 reasons, the Release the Kraken 2 slot won’t appear nowhere as much as the original game.
