Nile Fortune RTP, Details & Wager Limits
This is not your typical video slot as it has Expanding Reels. Initially played on a 5×3 reel setup, the Nile Fortune slot has 20 to 50 paylines. all symbols pay from left to right on selected paylines, with a minimum of 3 matching symbols needed to form a winning combination. Modifiers in the base game and the Free Spins feature can expand the reels 6 rows high, which allows for 50 paylines. More on those modifiers further down in the bonus features section.
Stakes range from just 20p up to £240 per spin, thus catering to all bankrolls. Just like all Pragmatic Play slot releases, use the + and – buttons on either side of the spin button below the reels to adjust your total bet. Autospins and turbo spins are also possible for non-UK players.
The Nile Fortune RTP is 96.03%, which is slightly above the industry average. But it’s worth noting that there are 2 other RTP versions for casinos in the UK to utilise – 95.08% and 94.04%.
Volatility levels are high here and rated 4.5/5 by the provider. The game also comes with a hit rate of 1 in 3. This means that a third of all spins on average will result in a winner.
The maximum win is 2,500 x the bet, which is a little on the low side when you compare that to many other slots on the market. The max win probability is very high too at 1 in 526,315,789.
Theme – take a trip to Ancient Egypt
It’s yet another Ancient Egyptian adventure to enjoy…or endure. You decide. It’s a very popular theme and this is the next one in line after Pragmatic’s Book of Tut Megaways was released back in September 2023.
The reels are set in the Egyptian desert, with temples and pyramids in the background. With the title of the slot being Nile Fortune, I can only assume it’s based in Giza, as the Great Pyramid of Giza is on the west bank of the Nile River in Northern Egypt. I like the visuals – the bold colours are very eye-catching and it looks great on a mobile device.
The soundtrack is traditional and fits well with the overall theme. Land the Free Spins feature and the audio intensifies as the reels move inside a temple. While it’s all very simple in design, the symbol animations are well done and it’s just a very well put together slot.
On the reels, the A-J Royals make up the lower-paying symbols. These are joined by higher-paying symbols that are a poignant part of Ancient Egyptian heritage – the lotus flower, the Eye of Ra, Thoth (god of the moon) and the Egyptian goddess Bastet. The Bastet symbol pays the most, awarding 1 ,4 or 10 x the bet for 3, 4 or 5 in combination.
The game’s Wild appears on all reels and pays the same as the Bastet symbol. The Scatter is a pyramid and will trigger the Free Spins feature if 3 or more land in view.
Here’s a helpful table showing the symbols you’ll come across in the game. We cover the modifiers further down in the review.

Nile Fortune mobile
Created using the latest HTML5 technology, the Nile Fortune mobile slot is available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. The 5×3 reel setup looks good on smaller screens, but when the expanding reels are triggered, it does look better on a bigger device in my opinion.
Nile Fortune Bonus Features
There are 5 bonus features to enjoy in the Nile Fortune slot game. From Random Wilds and Expanding Reels to Multiplier Wilds and unlimited free spins, there’s a lot to understand. Read on as we take you through everything so that you can get to grips with it all.
Mystery Modifiers
A green Mystery Modifier symbol can appear on reels 2 and 4 in the base game and reels 2, 3 and 4 in the Free Spins feature. Each Mystery Modifier symbol that lands can transform into a modifier, and a free respin is also awarded. The modifiers are:
| Modifier Symbol | Info |
|---|---|
Random Wilds | After a respin, a random number of Wilds are added into random positions on the reels. |
Expanding Reels | The reels increase for the respin to a grid size of 5×6, increasing the number of paylines to 50. |
Multiplier Wilds | After a respin, all winning combinations with at least 1 Wild are multiplied by 2x. |
Free Spins Feature
Land 3, 4 or 5 Scatters in the base game to trigger this bonus feature and receive 8, 12 or 20 free spins respectively. During this bonus round, the Mystery Modifier is present on reels 2, 3 and 4 and can transform into the same modifiers as the base game.
There is a slight difference with the Multiplier Wilds modifier in that it can offer bigger multipliers as follows:
- 2x – 1 Wild in the winning combination.
- 3x – If it lands with a Random Wilds modifier.
- 5x – If it lands with an Expanding Reels modifier.
- 10x – All 3 modifiers land on the same spin.
If you land 3, 4 or 5 Scatters on the reels during the bonus round, you will retrigger the feature and receive 8, 12 or 20 extra free spins respectively.
Buy Bonus Feature
Non-UK players can pay 80 x the bet to buy the Free Spins feature. It’s also possible to increase your base bat by 25% to increase your chances of landing the Scatters needed to trigger the Free Spins feature. But it’s not available in the UK, unfortunately.
Nile Fortune Slot Review Summary – looks nice but doesn’t deliver
When I loaded the Nile Fortune slot game to test, I was happy with what I saw from a visual point of view. The soundtrack wasn’t bad either. I then took a look at the paytable to understand the bonus features and it left me thinking that this was going to be a fun slot. But I have to admit that it fell short of my initial expectations. The low max win potential of 2,500 x the bet was a disappointment, and so too were the very high odds of landing it compared to a lot of other slots.
While the gameplay was good, I struggled to land the Free Spins feature and it felt like it took a lot longer than the 1 in 198 spin average the provider states. Nevertheless, once I did trigger the feature, I enjoyed the a lot more.
There’s nothing unique here, and maybe I was hoping for something new. Something I’d not seen before. Still, don’t let that deter you as it is still a very playable slot, although there are better ones out there. Overall, it gets an average rating from me, but don’t hesitate to try our free Nile Fortune slot demo and decide for yourself.
