Mighty 40 Theme—Visuals Look Basic

Don’t expect anything too flashy or a fascinating storyline here, like with new online slots. With the game’s artwork, I was expecting energetic and eye-catching graphics, at least something to keep my eyes glued to my screen. Maybe I got ahead of myself thinking Bally Wulff would break away from its usual retro visuals.

The grid is set against a burgundy background lit by what appears to be pink lightning. An electric soundtrack plays as you spin the reels, adding a much-needed spark to the gameplay. However, it became repetitive, so I muted it for most of my playtest.

Mighty 40 Mobile

I enjoyed the Mighty 40 mobile slot better in portrait mode because the grid looks clearer and everything feels accessible at a glance. The controls sit far under the grid at the base of the screen; the reels are at the top with a lot of dead space in between.  

Still, if you want to enjoy a similar layout to that on desktops while playing at mobile casinos, flip your device to landscape mode. Performance-wise, the game runs smoothly in both orientations on Android and iOS devices.

The Mighty 40 slot game has a classic tone, so don’t expect it to compete with the best titles out there in terms of bonus features. Still, you can trigger Free Games and gamble your wins for bigger payouts.

Free Games

Landing at least three scatters anywhere on the reels triggers ten Free Spins. Before that, though, you can unlock the max win of 333.3x the bet if you trigger the bonus round with five scatters. During the free spins, the lucky 7 symbol will join the white diamond and become a second wild.

Gamble Games

Whenever you create a win, you can either choose to collect your payout or gamble it for a bigger return. The game features two gamble games:

• Card Gamble: lets you gamble for the next card to be displayed, either red or black. A right pick doubles your initial payout, while you lose everything on a wrong guess

The design in Mighty 40 is simple, and the gameplay is basic, so it might not appeal to modern players.

Mighty 40 is a slot for old-school lovers only. If you’ve come to play a game packed with bonus features and innovative mechanics, then you’ll be disappointed with what’s on offer here. Considering that it was released back in 2016, I didn’t have high hopes.

The gameplay centres around the bonus round, where the highest-paying symbol doubles as a wild. It would have been great if it offered multipliers or other modifiers to boost wins. One standout for me is the Gamble feature. It gives you a chance to shoot for bigger payouts on every win.

On the downside, with the risk of lengthy dry spells attached to the game’s high volatility, one would expect a hefty top prize. Unfortunately, the wins are capped at just 333.3x the bet.
