Compared to the original 2014 release, the sound and visuals in Lady of Fortune Remastered are a big improvement. Gone are the rather tired, blocky visuals. Instead, you can find slick high-def images and a darker colour palette in their place. Overall, the new look is a big improvement on the previous version.

The setting for the reels is a fortune teller’s room. With skulls, potions and shelves full of dusty old books in the background, the reels include seven basic symbols related to the arcane skill of fortune-telling. The best of these is a spell book with the all-seeing eye on the front cover. Land 5 of these in a line for an award of 66.67x your stake.

There’s a mystical quality to the soundtrack, which works very nicely combined with the rather eerie and mysterious visuals.

I’ve no complaints about the design choices in Lady of Fortune Remastered since it is impressively done and compares favourably to many new online slots in that regard.

Just like the desktop version, the Lady of Fortune Remastered mobile slot looks and sounds terrific. It’s as moody and atmospheric as its big-screen counterpart. The gameplay is very simple in the tablet and smartphone versions, too.

However, I do prefer it when the mobile casino version of the game adapts and changes slightly depending on whether you play in portrait or landscape mode. Lady of Fortune Remastered looks exactly the same in both options. It doesn’t really go anywhere close to full screen in portrait mode.

Since the buttons remain rather small that way, some players may find it more difficult to play, especially if they’re using their devices with just one hand.

The immediate question that springs to mind here is—why? Sure, the original Lady of Fortune slot was decent enough, but does it really warrant a remastered version? Play’N Go obviously thinks so.

They’ve done a perfectly good job of upgrading the visuals as it goes. The look and sound of this new version are a big step up from the original. A shame that Play’N Go didn’t do much to improve the gameplay. The multiplier wilds and pick-me prizes are perfectly fine. However, it doesn’t feel like there’s enough going on.

The 96.2% RTP is fine, but the 1,500x stake max win is rather low.

Put all that together, and the conclusion is that Lady of Fortune Remastered is a rather underwhelming prospect. Nothing here is particularly bad—it’s just a bit on the dull side. It certainly doesn’t feature in my pick of the best online slots.
