The Fat Banker slot comes with 6 reels, 6 rows and 50 fixed paylines. To form a win, land 3, 4, 5 or 6 matching symbols from left to right across any payline, and starting from reel 1 (the one of the far left).

With a 1920s theme, the Fat Banker slot sees Push Gaming’s Fat series return. The story revolves around a jolly banker who attempts to fatten up his pockets. The game has an opulent and grand feel as the banker is joined by his wife and dog as they cruise around town in style.

The fatter and wealthier he gets, the more he enjoys the finer things in life such as flash cars and bags of cash. Set in downtown Manhattan in what appears to be Wall Street, the graphics are high definition and follow the same style as previous Fat series slots. The soundtrack is gentle and jazz inspired which ties in with the era.

Symbols on the reels include low value diamonds, clubs, hearts and spades. Then you have top hats, cigars, a dog and the banker’s wife. The banker’s wife is the best paying symbol with 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination awarding 0.6, 2, 10 or 20 x your total stake.

The game comes with 2 wild symbols. You have the Fat Banker wild symbol that substitutes for all symbols bar the Silver Safe, Bullion and Multiplier symbols. Paying 1, 4, 16 or 40 x stake for 3, 4, 5 or 6 on a payline, it only appears on reel 1 during the base game.

The Wild Money Bag symbol also substitutes for all symbols mentioned above and can appear on reels 2, 3, 4, 5 and/or 6 during the base game. It can contain a multiplier of 2x, 3x and 5x. Instant Prize Bullion feature

Bullion symbols will appear on all reels except reel 6 during the base game. Bullions are Instant Prize symbols that contain stake multipliers. These bet multipliers will be 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 x your total stake.

Look out for the Silver Safe symbol appearing on reel 6. When it appears alongside Bullion symbols, the value of the Bullion symbols are collected and won. This is known as the Instant Prize Bullion feature.

Finally, Multiplier symbols can appear on all reels bar reel 6 during the base game. Basically, Multiplier symbols multiply the value of Bullion symbols. Possible multiplier values are 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x or 100x. A 100x Bullion and a 100x Multiplier symbol will lead to a 10,000 x bet win for example.

Red Car feature

During a base game spin, fancy Red Cars can appear at any moment. When they do, the Red Car feature will be triggered. The red cars will reveal a Fat Banker, Silver Safe, Wild Money Bag, Wild Money Bag with multiplier or Bullion symbols.

Fortune Link feature

The Fortune Link feature is played when the Silver Safe symbol lands in the hot spots on reel 6 with a minimum of 1 Bullion symbol anywhere on reels 1 to 5. You will then be awarded 2 respins. If triggered with Bullion multiplier symbols, the multiplier value applies to the total win.

Each symbol position spins to reveal a Bullion, Multiplier or blank. If a Bullion or Multiplier symbol lands, the respins tally resets back to 2. The value of the Bullion symbol is collected and remains in position. When a Multiplier lands, the value of the Bullion symbols are multiplied and then disappear for the next respin. The feature ends when you run out of respins or all symbol positions are filled.

Gold Car feature

During the Fortune Link feature and on the last respin, beautiful gold cars can cruise by. When they appear, the Gold Car feature will be triggered. This will reward you with a minimum of 1 Bullion symbols and/or the Multiplier symbol added to the reels. This will also reset the respins tally to 2.

Free Spins feature

The Free Spins feature is activated when a Fat Banker wild symbol lands on reel 1 with 1 or more Wild Money Bag or Wild Money Bag with multiplier symbols on any reel. 5 free spins are then awarded. The Fat Banker wild stays on the reels throughout the whole feature.

If any Wild Money Bag symbol lands, the Fat Banker moves to that symbol and collects it. The number of Wild Money Bag symbols collected is added to the progress meter to the right of the reels.

Each time you fill the progress meter, the Fat Banker wild increases in size and awards extra free spins. With 6 levels, a 6×6 Fat Banker wild can be in play as well as up to 16 free spins:

Now, the Wild Money Bag symbol may land with a multiplier. If collected by the Fat Banker wild, the multiplier is also collected and accumulated. The total multiplier will apply to all wins during the feature.

On your last free spin, the Gold Car feature can be triggered randomly. A random number of Wild Money Bag symbols with or without a multiplier will be added to the reels. This ensures the next level is reached for extra free spins and a bigger Fat Banker wild. It cannot be activated when at level 6 though.

Fat Banker Review Summary – half of the win potential of Fat Drac

The Fat Banker slot follows on Fat Drac and has similar design. I do think the story is pretty good and is up there compared to previous Fat series slots.

When it comes to the gameplay, there are more bonus features than in other Fat series games. With instant prizes available, the way they are awarded, coupled with multipliers, is unique.

The Free Spins feature is similar to previous games but the Fat Banker Wild can grow up to 6×6 in size where in the other 3 games it’s up to 5×5 in size. That said, the bigger wins will only really land if you trigger the free spins with a couple of multipliers.

I found the Fortune Link feature to be the most lucrative, especially if you land plenty of Bullions and Multipliers. This respins game works similarly to many respins slots with Relax Gaming the best at it. Money Train 2 comes to mind.

The max win for a screen full of wilds is 2,000 x your total bet so the Instant Bullion prizes are important. That said, the max win of 25,000 x your total stake is half of that in Fat Drac which is disappointing. It’s more than double that of Fat Rabbit and Fat Santa.

If you’re a fan of the Fat series, Fat Banker will appeal but I think Push Gaming has missed a trick with half the win potential of the previous release. On a more positive note, there are more bonus features in this game.
