Instead of traditional spinning reels, Esqueleto Explosivo features a selection of brightly coloured skulls which drop onto Enrico Mortis and his mariachi band The Boners, five music-playing skeletons. If the skulls don’t include a winning combination, they will all fall to the floor to be replaced by another 15 skulls.

If the skulls do contain a winning combination the dropping symbol feature comes into play. The skulls from any winning payline will fall away to be replaced by the symbols directly above, offering another chance to win. In addition to extra coins, every consecutive win using dropping symbols will increase a multiplier. It starts at 1x and can go up to 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x.

The multiplier also increases if the Explosivo wild symbol appears. The Explosivo blows up the closest 8 symbols to where it hits, allowing the dropping symbols to fall into place and offer another shot at a payout. The multiplier increases by a factor of one every time one arrives.

Thunderkick slots are usually a feast for the eyes and Esqueleto Explosivo is up there with the best they’ve produced. The graphics are absolutely superb and the animations are super slick. The ‘reels’ are set against a Mexican streetscape and complemented by a classy Mariachi soundtrack.

There are no free spins on offer in Esqueleto Explosivo but that’s a small quibble as the action flows along at a rapid pace thanks to the dropping symbols and Explosivo wilds. Get on a roll and the wins can soon rack up, especially thanks to the mucho multiplier.
