DJ Fox RTP, Details & Wager Limits
The DJ Fox slot might look confusing at first. Played on 3 reels with 5 rows, there’s some unusual rules. Firstly, only 1 row is unlocked at the start of the game. Secondly, the slot uses Push Gaming’s unique Win What You See mechanism, instead of traditional paylines. This has only been used in one slot before, Generous Jack, but it’s far simpler than it first appears.
Essentially, to create a win you just need to land at least 1 number symbol in an active row. The total win of each spin is equal to the linked number symbols and dud symbols that land on the active rows, divided by 10. Depending on where the numbers and duds land, gives different results. Here’s some examples:

Whilst that might not seem very clear, it’s much easier to get to grips with the slot as you play. It really does work in a ‘win what you see way’, with symbols acting as extra decimals or multipliers.
You can play DJ Fox for 10p up to £100 per spin, initially. A sort of ‘ante bet’ feature is also available, which we’ll talk about later. Does anyone remember the bizarre dance-novelty song, What Does the Fox Say?, from 2013? No judgment if you don’t – it’s probably for the best. Push Gaming seem to, however, as we don’t know where else they could have got the idea to centre a slot around an anthropomorphic fox DJ otherwise.
Set in a flashing club, DJ Fox spins the decks to the right of the reels. The soundtrack thumps, which is either enjoyable or hectic, depending on how you feel about the unusual mechanics of the game and clubs in general.
On the reels, the symbols are pretty self-explanatory. Values from 1-9 appear, aswell as 0 and 00, and these combine as discussed above. There’s also one special VIP record symbol, which helps to unlock extra rows.

VIP Symbols

Multiplier Meter Feature
To the left of the reels, you’ll see a Multiplier Meter with values of 2-20x. As explained above, when VIP symbols are collected, the Multiplier Meter fills from lowest to highest. Before the multipliers begin there are two blank fox symbols too. So, you’ll need:

You need to collect the VIP symbols on the same spin, or via respins, At the start of a new game round all positions in the Multiplier Meter are cleared.
Meter Lock Feature
Finally, on any spin, the Meter Lock feature may trigger at random. This does what it says on the tin, locking your progress on the Multiplier Meter for the next spin. This feature can only be triggered at the end of a spin that includes VIP symbols. The Meter Lock remains on for one extra spin, after that the meter resets.
Push-Up Feature
Like many new slots, DJ Fox comes with a sort of ‘ante bet’ feature called Push-Up. This allows you to pay more to benefit from unlocked rows. It also changes the RTP.

DJ Fox Slot Review Summary – just as fun and confusing as a night in a club
First of all, Push Gaming have absolutely nailed the theme of this slot. The flashing lights, the soundtrack, and the quick gameplay all help to create a clubbing atmosphere – as does the fact you may not have any idea what’s going on.
In theory, the provider’s Win What You See mechanism should be easy to understand. It worked in Generous Jack fine. The problem is now it’s Win What You See divided by 10. It takes some getting used to, but luckily the other gameplay features are straightforward.
The VIP symbols and Multiplier Meter are key to big wins. They have to be, as there’s little else going on. The Meter Lock was our favourite feature, however. Securing those multipliers for an extra spin can be very valuable.
Overall, Push Gaming have managed to set this game apart from everything else, despite the fact it shares similar features. With no free spins round, it’s fast-paced and slick, and 10,000 x bet max wins are definitely appealing. Unlike a night out, however, it won’t give you a hangover.
