Theme – Take Aim with Artemis
The star of this Pragmatic Play slot might be an ancient Greek goddess, but this isn’t a game that’s filled with togas and marble columns. As befitting her role as the goddess of hunting, there’s a strong nature theme to Bow of Artemis.
Joining the lower-value A to J symbols are a stag, a green wolf and a blue bear. There’s also a wild that substitutes for all the standard symbols.
I found the visuals here to be rather basic. The symbols are nice and sharp against the dark backdrop, though. That’s important, given there are 64 symbols in play on each spin.
An animated Artemis springs into life on occasions when the feature and modifiers come into play.
The orchestral soundtrack is suitably sweeping, especially during the bonus round, which gives the game a certain amount of grandeur.
| Symbol | Payouts/Info |

Bow of Artemis Bonus Features
If you like your slots to offer loads of variety, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in Bow of Artemis. As well as the tumbling reels, there are 6 potential modifiers which can strike on any spin. Collect winning symbols to activate the bonus round where modifiers play out in turn and multipliers come into play.
Tumbling Reels
Land a winning cluster, and the successful symbols are blasted off the reels, and new symbols drop in and replace them. Tumbles keep on coming as long as a new winner is created.
Spin Features
Look out for coloured markings which can appear on any symbol on the game grid. Land a win on top of the coloured symbols and their associated extra triggers.
- Brown: The Chase Begins – The screen is cleared and a new symbol drop takes place.
- Teal: The Wild Pack – All examples of one randomly chosen symbol turn wild.
- Purple: Big Game Hunter – Blocks of 2×2 colossal symbols are added to random positions on the grid.
- Red: Colossal Game – A single 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5 colossal symbol is added.
- Blue: Lucky Wilds – Between 5 and 15 wilds are added to random positions on the reels.
- Green: Power – Between 10 and 30 of the same matching symbols are added to the grid.
The Hunt Progressive Feature
Each symbol that makes up part of a winning cluster is added to a meter. Collect enough symbols during a single set of tumbles and you’ll activate the Hunt Progressive Feature. All six Spin Features then play out in turn. Depending on how many symbols you collected to activate the Hunt, you’ll start the round with a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier.
Collect enough symbols during a level, and you’ll advance to the next, where once again, all six Spin Features play out in turn. New multipliers are added to your current total to give even bigger payout boosts. Here’s what you need to first trigger and then advance through the Levels:
- Level 1 – collect 135 symbols to trigger the feature. Collect 130, 155 or 180 symbols and you’ll also receive a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier.
- Level 2 – collect 140 symbols during Level 1 to advance to Level 2 where +1 is added to the multiplier. If 165, 190, or 220 winning symbols are collected during Level 1, the multiplier increases by +2, +3, or +5, respectively.
- Level 3 – collect 140 symbols during Level 2 to advance to Level 3 where +1 is added to the multiplier. If 170, 190, or 220 winning symbols are collected during Level 1, the multiplier increases by +2, +3, or +5, respectively.
- Level 4 – collect 152 symbols during Level 3 to advance to Level 4 where +1 is added to the multiplier. If 190, 200 or 220 winning symbols are collected during Level 1, the multiplier increases by +2, +3, or +5, respectively.
- Level 5 – collect 152 symbols during Level 4 to advance Level 5 where +1 is added to the multiplier. If 190, 200 or 220 winning symbols are collected during Level 1, the multiplier increases by +2, +3, or +5, respectively.
The round ends when you don’t collect enough symbols to advance to the next level or you’ve made it all the way to Level 5 and played all of the Spin Features.
Bonus Buy
Players in some jurisdictions have the chance to buy the Hunt Progressive Feature for a fee of 100 x stake. This isn’t available in the United Kingdom.
Bow of Artemis Verdict: A Bit Plain Visuals, but Exciting Extras
Bow of Artemis is a little different from your common or garden ancient Greek fare. That’s true of both the design and the gameplay. The visuals aren’t as flashy as you’ll find in some similarly themed slots, but they do the job perfectly well.
What really stood out for me was the variety of extras on offer courtesy of the Spin Features. You can expect to see them trigger at regular intervals too.
The best opportunities for a decent win come via the Progressive Feature. As you might imagine for such a high variance slot, it was a bit of a hit and miss affair on the occasions I did land it. Work through the levels and there’s some decent action to be had though.
I enjoyed Bow of Artemis. It might not quite be a bullseye but Pramatic Play has certainly hit the target with the adventures of this animated archer.
