The Book of Toro slot is made up of 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines. Using a classic ‘Book of’ mechanic, winning combinations are created when 3 or more matching symbols appear from left to right across any of the 10 paylines. For the 4 highest value symbols, you only need 2 in combination.

Following on from Wild Toro 2, the Book of Toro slot has an ancient Egyptian theme. The story goes that Toro and Matador are on a chaotic quest to prevent the Matador Diaz Junior’s ancestor, the evil Captain Diaz, from finding the Book of Toro and raiding the inner chambers of ABU Simbel temple in Egypt.
With cartoon style graphics, it has the same look and feel as previous Toro slots. The soundtrack has a traditional feel but it quite upbeat.

Book of Toro Review Summary – classic ‘Book of’ slot with Toro favourites
The Book of Toro slot stays true to its predecessors (Wild Toro and Wild Toro 2) with walking wilds and respins. They’ve added free spins with expanding symbols which you’d expect. With high value symbols, big wins can land in the base game as well as the free spins.
To win big though, a high value expansion symbol is needed. Landing Captain Diaz is the desired outcome with a screen full of him resulting in a big payout. 2,500 x stake is the most that can be won on any spin, respin or free spin.
Whilst I think Wild Toro 2 is a better game, Book of Toro is exactly what you’d think a Book of/Toro inspired game should be. Maybe adding the Expanding Reels feature would have been a nice touch perhaps.
Whilst Book of Toro is decent, ELK Studios could have done more. If you take Book of Duat from Quickspin, they added a pick and click element to the free spins.
