Theme: endure the mansion horrors
You’re transported to a gothic, candle-lit mansion and will come against fang-bearing snakes among other things in this horror-themed slot. The eerie soundtrack as soon as you load the game is fantastic if you’re a fan of these types of slots, and I like the skulls in the background. It all adds to the suspensefulness. The constant sound of the moving chains can get a little annoying after a while, though.
Land the Free Spins feature and the action speeds up, with a more intense soundtrack as if you’re in a race against time against something. But then it all just ends when the Free Spins run out. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I was hoping for something a little more dramatic or intense after the suspenseful base game. Never mind.

Multiplier Symbols
Pink and red rose symbols can land on the reels and award a 1x or 2x multiplier respectively. The pink rose can only appear on reel 1 on the top set of reels, and the red rose can only appear on reel 5 on the bottom set of reels.
If both of them land in view on a base game spin, the 2 sets of reels merge into a single 6×5 grid and a respin is awarded. For the respin, a 2x multiplier is applied to all wins. If a 1x multiplier (pink rose symbol) lands during the respin, the general multiplier increases by 1x. If a 2x multiplier (red rose symbol) lands, the general multiplier is multiplied by 3x.
At the end of the respin, all wins are multiplied by the general multiplier. The 6×5 reel setup will then change and go back to the 2 sets of 5×3 reels.

Land 3 or more Scatters in the base game to trigger this bonus feature and receive 8 free spins. Before the bonus feature begins, here’s how much you will be paid out for the triggering Scatters:

Blade & Fangs Slot Verdict: audio more exciting than the gameplay
First of all, I didn’t dislike the gameplay, I just preferred the audio. That might sound like me having a dig at the way the game plays, but it’s not. I enjoyed the action, but there was nothing that stood out about it and I’d seen the features in numerous other slots that came before this one
I do like the dual 5×3 reels and the fact they merge into a 6×5 reel setup at times. You don’t often see too much change in Pragmatic Play slots on the whole, so it was nice to see them thinking outside the box here. Again, not a dig in the slightest. I really appreciated their approach to the visuals and the way it works.
If you’re a fan of a horror-themed game with zombies, demons or werewolves, you’ll no doubt enjoy what Pragmatic has put together with the Blade & Fangs slot. The soundtrack is fantastic. It’s just a shame the same can’t be said for the max win potential, which is a little on the low side compared to a lot of other slots on the market.
Overall, although I like it, I think it’s going to be a bit of a marmite slot if that makes sense. You’re either going to play it and love it or play it and realise it’s just not for you.
