Bass Boss Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits
The Bass Boss slot is played on 5 reels, 4 rows, and 10 fixed paylines. All matched symbols pay from left to right on adjacent reels, beginning from reel 1.
Stakes range from just 10p up to £20 per spin. Use the + and – buttons on either side of the stake value to change your total bet. You can also enjoy Autoplay and turbo spins in most territories apart from the UK.
The Bass Boss RTP is 95.7%, which is a little below the 96% average for an online slot. In terms of volatility, is rated high as 5 out of 5 by the provider. Furthermore, the hit frequency is in the low to medium range too (2/5), which is a surprise. I thought it might be a little higher and better for the player.
The maximum win is 4,835 x your stake. Again, this is a surprise considering the high volatility and the low RTP. It would have been nice to see it higher. As it stands, it currently sits in and around a lot of the slots from Pragmatic’s Big Bass series such as Bigger Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Bonanza Megaways, and Big Bass Splash.
Theme – bait the hook, feel the bite
The theme in the Bass Boss slot game is clear from the title – it’s all about fishing. With the reels set underwater, the fisherman is resting above the reels on the surface and waiting for his chance to cast his line. It’s nicely designed with the water moving realistically and fish swimming in the background.
The visuals are simple but effective, and the soundtrack is quite tranquil with birds shipping in the background before you spin away. Hit that spin button and the country and western type music appears with everything intensifying to add to the overall thrill of a spin.
The reels change slightly when the Contest Spins feature lands, and the audio is more rock and roll during the bonus round. Overall, it’s all very well thought out but we’ve seen designs like this with other fishing slots in the past, so there’s nothing revolutionary here.
On the reels, you’ve got the usual A-10 Royals. These are joined by the instant win fish symbols and higher-paying fishing reels, hats, tackle boxes and boats. The boat is the most rewarding symbol, paying 3, 10 or 30 x your stake for 3, 4 or 5 in combination respectively.
There’s no Wild in the game, but the fish symbols more than make up for that. Here’s a breakdown of the symbols you’ll come across:
| Symbol | Payout/Info |
|---|---|
10 | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.1, 0.3 or 1 x stake |
J | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.1, 0.4 or 1.5 x stake |

Fishing Reel | 3, 4 or 5 = 1, 3 or 10 x stake |
Hat | 3, 4 or 5 = 1.5, 4.5 or 15 x stake |
Tackle Box | 3, 4 or 5 = 2, 6 or 20 x stake |
Boat | 3, 4 or 5 = 3, 10 or 30 x stake |

Bass Boss Mobile
Red Tiger creates all its slots with HTML5 technology and the Bass Boss mobile slot is no different. Available to play on mobile, tablet and desktop devices, you have the choice of iOS or Android operating systems. The 5×4 reel layout works well on smaller screens.
Bass Boss Bonus Features
There are 5 bonus features in the Bass Boss slot game. From fish symbols with multipliers to a Free spins feature that can be triggered, there’s a lot going on. Read on as we explore each feature and tell you how everything works.
Fish Symbols
Fish symbols can land anywhere on the reels but they do not participate in win lines. Instead, they hold instant win prizes as a multiplier and will pay out as soon as it lands. Here are the values you could get:
- Green Fish = 2x or 5x stake
- Pink Fish = 10x or 15x stake
- Red Fish = 30x or 50x stake
- Orange Fish = 100x or 200x stake
Catch! feature
The fisherman you see above the reels will randomly cast his finishing line in the water during or after a spin. The hook on his line will submerge to a random row and collect every fish there. More than 1 fish can be caught during a single spin.
Nudge feature
If the fisherman isn’t successful when casting his line to a row where no fish appear, the hook will move to another row for a chance at catching some fish.
Improved Bait feature
Random multipliers can be applied to the float of the fishing line during the base game. If you catch any fish with a multiplier, its instant win prize is multiplied by the specified amount, which could be 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x.
Contest Spins feature
Land 3 or more Content Spins symbols in the Bass Boss slot game to trigger the Contest Spins feature. Here’s how many free spins you could get:
| Contest Spins Symbols | Contest Spins |
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 20 |
The hook will stay on the fisherman’s line in the water for the duration of the bonus round. He will either keep it on 1 row or move to another row to catch fish.
During this feature, a progress bar appears to track the number of fish caught. There are 4 milestones here and you can retrigger the bonus round a maximum of 4 times to get a total of 40 extra Contest Spins:
Bass Boss Review Summary – hook yourself a golden trophy
As I mentioned above, it’s got a similar feel to Pragmatic’s Big Bass series of games. There are some fun elements here and the instant prizes with the fish symbols are a nice touch to compensate for no Wild in the game.
The max win isn’t too bad, but I’m a little disappointed to see the RTP below average and the hit frequency is pretty low at 2 out of 5 on this highly volatile slot. I would expect these figures on games with max wins 10,000 x or above, to be honest. Nevertheless, if you’re a fan of the fishing theme, this will entertain you for a while, but it’s not a slot that will blow you away.
