Ashoka Eternal uses a 5-reel, 7-row machine. You’ll notice that some of the positions at the start of each spin are filled with blockers. Create winning combinations by landing clusters of 5 or more symbols. These symbols and adjoining blockers are blasted from the reels and new symbols drop in and replace them. If a new cluster forms, the process is repeated. The avalanches continue until there’s one with no new winner on display. If you manage to clear all the blockers, extra reels and rows open up. Symbols include 4 lower-value flower-style motifs on stone blocks which appear alongside blue, green and red gemstones and a mighty white tiger. Ashoka Eternal Verdict: a good slot but it’s not an upgrade on the original
With its combination of classy design and varied gameplay, ELK Studios has come up with a winning slot in Ashoka Eternal. The sound and visuals here are terrific and it’s backed up by a solid collection of features.
The avalanche wins and cluster pays keep the pace high. I found the multipliers tricky to get going in the base game, but they can start to motor during the bonus round. Those free games are tricky to land but they can be worth the wait.
