Ankh of Anubis Verdict: Great Visuals, but Gameplay Lacks Exciting Features
Play’n GO has stirred the ancient Egyptian waters several times, notably with Rise of Dead and Legacy of Dead. Naturally, I expected Ankh of Anubis to follow the same tomb-heavy visuals, but the provider has outdone itself. It brings something new into this cliche genre with its futuristic look.
In terms of gameplay, it’s relatively simple—I wish it were as explosive as the visuals, though. It comes with generous wilds, which expand to cover the reels, completing more wins and awarding a payout of up to 20x the bet. But honestly, expanding wilds aren’t really innovative in today’s market.
The bonus round is a rehash of the base game—no fresh mechanics or additional extras to look forward to. Although the 15,000x the bet max win looks solid on paper, I find it difficult to see how it’s realistically achievable.
