Roadkill Slot RTP, Details and Wager Limits
Reels/Ways to Win: 5 reels + 99 ways to win
Stakes Range: 20p to £100 per spin
RTP: 96.05% | 94.11% | 92.07%
Max Win: 11,091 x bet per spin
The Roadkill slot is played with 5 reels, 3 rows and 99 connected ways to win. Winning combinations are created when the same symbols appear on adjacent reels connected through the same row or 1 row up or down and from left to right. They need to begin on the leftmost reel too.
In terms of playing options, you can bet from 20p to £100 a spin. Use the ‘Coins’ icon to change your stake appropriately. Players outside the UK can use Autoplay with up to 1,000 auto spins with balance limits available. There’s also a Turbo Mode for quicker spins (Lightning Bolt icon) for non-UK players.
The Roadkill RTP is 96.05% which is just about the online slots average (i.e. 96%). Nolimit City has also created 94.11% and 92.07% RTP versions which may be used at your chosen online casino. The RTP you’re playing can be found in the Paytable. Concerning the highest RTP setting, 64.18% is reserved for the base game with 31.87% for the bonus features.
Variance-wise, Roadkill isn’t as high as other Nolimit City slot games. Ranked as high (8/10), it’s not as ‘extreme’ or ‘insane’ as previous releases. It has a 22.53% hit frequency rate meaning a win will land every 4.44 spins on average. Triggering the free spins will occur every 239 spins (again, on average).
Finally, Roadkill comes with 11,091 x bet max wins. Called the Kings of the Road award, the max win probability is 1 in 25 million spins (this is for the 96.05% RTP version). To win 100 x bet or higher, it will take approximately 734 spins.
Theme: animals take a stand against drivers
Theme: Animal/Driving
High-Value Symbol: Billy
Compatibility: Mobile, Tablet, Desktop
With an animal/driving theme, the Roadkill slot focuses on Papa Bear, Fred the Rabbit and Deer Joe. With millions of animals globally being killed by cars, they take things into their own paws and make a stand. Roadkill is defined as an animal or animals that have been hit and killed by vehicles. In true Nolimit City style, the game is controversial, unique and engaging.
The first thing you’ll notice is Billy singing that he’s got himself some ‘roadkill’. Here lies the problem as roadkill is the most common cause of death in 28% of animals studied. With some populations of animals, up to 80% of all known mortality was a result of collisions with vehicles, according to Nottingham Trent University’s study.
Visually, you are presented with a birds-eye view of a country road lined with trees and foliage. It does look a lot like NLC’s Road Rage slot. Using cartoon-style imagery, you’ll hear general traffic noise including cars and helicopters.
On the reels, symbols include bags of roadkill, acorns, bear traps, a picture of a bear and barrels of moonshine. Higher-value symbols are represented by animals: G. Coonie (raccoon), Love Nut (squirrel) and El Zorro (fox). You also have characters Hilly and Billy which has a redneck influence. Billy is the best-paying symbol awarding 0.5, 1 or 7.5 x bet for 3, 4 or 5 in combination.
Roadkill comes with 3 Jumping Wilds (Fred the Rabbit, Deer Joe and Papa Bear). They substitute for all paying symbols above. Keep an eye out for Scatters and Hilly/Billy cars which will be looked at in more detail below.
Symbol | Payouts/Info |
---|---|
Bag of Roadkill | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.1, 0.25 or 0.5 x bet |
Acorns | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.15, 0.25 or 0.75 x bet |
Bear Trap | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.2, 0.3 or 1x bet |
Bear Picture | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.2, 0.3 or 1.25 x bet |
Moonshine Barrell | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.25, 0.35 or 1.5 x bet |
Raccoon | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.3, 0.4 or 1.5 x bet |
Squirrel | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.3, 0.4 or 2 x bet |
Fox | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.35, 0.5 or 2.5 x bet |
Hilly | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.4, 0.8 or 5 x bet |
Billy | 3, 4 or 5 = 0.5, 1 or 7.5 x bet |
Papa Bear Jumping Wild | General multiplier is enabled |
Deer Joe Jumping Wild | Acts as Split Wild if blocking a car |

Roadkill Mobile
The Roadkill release date is the 7th of November 2023 and has been produced using the latest technology. Available to play on desktop, laptop and mobile devices, it can be enjoyed on iOS and/or Android smartphones.
Roadkill Bonus Features
The Roadkill slot benefits from 10 bonus features. With lots going on, the features intertwine. It can be a little confusing so the demo version is highly recommended.
Call to Arms feature
The Call to Arms feature is triggered when you land 2 Scatter symbols. 2 normal hearts and 2 Jumping Wilds are awarded. You’ll get spins until no more hearts are left. If a third Scatter lands here, the Team Assemble Free Spins feature will be activated. Furthermore, normal hearts that have been lost will be restored.
Collectors feature
Collectors are enabled when a Jumping Wild symbol is in play. Each Collector corresponds to a particular Jumping Wild (colour and type). When a car is stopped by a Jumping Wild, the Collector value increases by 1.
When the Collector reaches the cap count of 5, it triggers the upgrade feature. This enhances its Jumping Wild and upgrades a normal heart into an armoured heart. Alternatively, if hearts are missing, an armoured heart is added. Finally, the Collector’s counter is removed once the cap count has been met.
Papa Bear feature
Papa Bear is a Jumping Wild that moves to a random position in the Battle Area (reels 2, 3 and 4) between spins. This is how the Papa Bear Jumping Wild works:
- When in play, a general multiplier is enabled
- He tries to move 1 step every second spin and in any direction
- He can only block a car once by damaging it for 2 hit points from left and right
- When a car is stopped, the general multiplier increases by 1 up to 5x and its Collector by 1
If its Collector reaches the cap count of 5, a permanent 2x multiplier is applied on the Papa Bear Jumping Wild until the end of the bet.
Deer Joe feature
Like Papa Bear, Deer Joe is a Jumping Wild that moves to random positions on reels 2, 3 and 4 (Battle Area). However, he acts a little differently:
- Deer Joe acts as a Split Wild and triggers only if it blocks a car
- Tries to move 1 step on every spin (and in any direction)
- Only blocks a car once by damaging it for 1 hit point from left and right
- When a car is blocked, it splits all the symbols on the same row/direction where the car came from
If its Collector reaches the cap count of 5, the Split feature slices all the rows instead of one. This will lead to more ways to win.
Fred the Rabbit feature
Fred the Rabbit is also a Jumping Wild that moves to random positions in the Battle Area. This is how he acts:
- Fred the Rabbit acts as a Trapper
- He moves anywhere on every spin in the Battle Area
- Can block a car multiple times by damaging it for 1 hit point from left and right
- When a car is stopped, it leaves a Wild behind which then jumps to a new position
If its Collector reaches the cap count of 5, a Trap is applied during its first jump. The Trap blocks and damages a car once and then turns itself into a wild if the car is stopped by it. If the Trap doesn’t stop or hit any car, it’s removed before the spin ends.
Hilly and Billy Cars feature
Hilly and Billy cars are enabled whenever animals are in play and triggers between spins only. There are 2 types of cars:
Symbol | Info |
---|---|
Hilly's Green Car (1 Hit Point) | Always comes in first on every spin and requires to be hit once to be stopped. |
Billy’s Red Car (2 Hit Points) | Comes in on every 5th spin during the Team Assemble feature or on every spin during the Junkyard Assault feature. It needs to be hit twice to be stopped. |
When any car is in play, it travels across the reals starting from the right and on a random row. If a Jumping Wild manages to block the car, 1 hit point is removed from the car. When the hit point reaches 0, the car is stopped.
Now, if the car manages to cross the reels without being stopped, the car picks a random row and traverses from the left this time. A successful back-and-forth trip will damage an armoured heart or remove a normal heart starting from the right on the heart list. The feature ends when no more hearts are left.
Team Assemble feature
The Team Assemble feature is triggered by collecting 3 Scatters during the base game or Call to Arms feature. 3 hearts are then applied or restored. Billy’s Red Car is enabled and comes in together with Hilly’s Green Car on every 5th spin.
If all 3 Jumping Wilds are upgraded, you will play the Junkyard Assault feature. The feature ends when no more hearts remain.
Junkyard Assault feature
The Junkyard Assault feature is played only when all 3 Jumping Wilds are upgraded. 3 hearts are applied or restored. Billy’s Red Car and Hilly’s Green Car are in play on every spin.
Furthermore, the Jumping Wilds individual Collectors are replaced with 1 Total Collector which starts at 0. When it reaches its cap, it will trigger the Roadblock feature. The feature ends when no more hearts are left.
Roadblock feature
Roadkill comes with a Roadblock feature. It’s activated by collecting a total of 20 hits. Enabled for the next spin, any normal hearts are restored and Jumping Wilds are transforming to cover a whole row each in the Battle Area.
Then Billy’s Red Car and Hilly’s Gren Car are in play and hit 1 row each randomly. They also trigger a feature based on the row hit:
- Top Row: adds 1 wild randomly on reel 5
- Middle Row: splits all rows on reel 5
- Bottom Row: multiplies the 3×3 Wild by 2
This order is the same and every row can be hit twice. When both cars are stopped, all 3 rows convert into a big 3×3 Wild (which covers the Battle Area entirely). Once the payout takes place, the 3×3 Wild splits back into Jumping Wilds with the Total Collector beginning from 0.
Nolimit Bonus feature
Finally, there is a Nolimit Bonus feature for non-UK players. With 3 options, they cost between 60 and 500 x your total bet. Below is a table with all the information:
Cost | Feature | RTP |
60 x bet | Team Assemble | 96.15% |
500 x bet | Junkyard Assault | 96.21% |
200 x bet | Lucky Draw | 96.19% |
The Lucky Draw option gives you a 10% chance of playing the Junkyard Assault feature and 90% chance of the Team Assemble feature. However, if you get the latter, you will get 1 (20%), 2 (30% or 3 (40%) armoured hearts.
Roadkill Review Summary: like Road Rage but a tad more confusing
Graphically superb, the Roadkill slot is another example from Nolimit City of a unique theme/approach which is sure to excite players. The brilliant soundtrack in the bonus features and the humorous take on the subject matter can be considered controversial yet welcome. Visually, it has similarities to NLC’s xWays Hoarder xSplit.
In terms of the gameplay, having a read through the bonus features will surely leave you confused. What I do like is that you don’t get a certain number of free spins from the features. You play until you run out of hearts. Keep an eye out for the 3 Jumping Wilds which enable Collectors when colliding with cars. Armoured hearts keep the features going for longer too.
The Jumping Wilds add a general multiplier which can reach 5x, split wilds which will lead to more ways to win and trappers which block cars from crossing the road and removing/damaging hearts.
I particularly like the Junkyard Assault feature where all 3 Jumping Wilds are upgraded and the 2 cars try to cross the road on every spin. If you’re lucky enough to play the Roadblock feature, Jumping Wilds transform a row each. This can lead to wilds, split rows and a 2x multiplier on the 3×3 Wild. If you stop both cars, you’ll benefit from a 3×3 Wild on the 3 middle reels.
With 11,091 x bet max wins, it’s much lower than the 36,000 x bet found in Road Rage (Roadkill’s predecessor). That said, the max win probability is 1 in 25 million spins compared to 1 in 80 million. You can achieve the max win more easily in the bonus features though. It will hit every 200,000 spins in Team Assemble and every 6,300 spins in Junkyard Assault.
If there’s ever a slot game you need to play in demo mode before playing for real, this is it. A few hundred spins will soon start to make sense. In summary, Roadkill is another entertaining slot from Nolimit City that offers unique gameplay and a quirky approach thematically. It may not offer the max win potential of other NLC titles but that’s a minor gripe in my opinion.
