Pearl Harbor Slot RTP, Details and Wager Limits
Reels/Paylines: 3×3/7×7 Grid + Cluster Pays
Stakes Range: 20p to £100 per spin
RTP: 96.06%
Max Win: 41,127 x bet per spin
The Pearl Harbor slot uses the cluster pays mechanic and the action takes place on a 7×7 grid, although it begins with just a 3×3 layout until Wilds land to expand the target. Wins are calculated by multiplying the symbols Cluster size payout value will all active multipliers added together. A Cluster win is simply where adjacent symbols touch sides horizontally or vertically.
Stakes range from 20p up to £100 per spin. This is a typical range for a lot of Nolimit City slots and will cater to all bankrolls. Simply hit the dollar sign to the left of the reels (on desktop) to adjust your total stake. You will have 25 predefined bet values to pick from. Turbo spins and up to 1,000 autospins are also available if you’re outside the UK.
The Pearl Harbor RTP is 96.06%, although there are a couple of other versions with RTP rates of 94.1% and 92.01% that could be made available at some of the top slot sites. So please just check to make sure you’re playing the 96.06% version. 65.64% is reserved for the main game, with 27.54% for the Dogfight feature and 2.9% for the Tora! Tora! Tora! Feature.
The slot comes with a hit frequency of 19.41%, which means that just under a 5th of all spins on average will result in a winner. But please note that the volatility levels here are in the extreme range and it’s been given a 10 out of 10 rating by the provider.
The maximum win is 41,127 x your stake. However, with the volatility so high, this will occur only once in every 150 million spins on average. It’s also worth noting here that 1 in every 1,215 spins on average will result in a win of 100 x your stake or more.
Theme – the ruthless world of WW2
Theme: War
High Value Symbol: Kamikaze Pilot
Compatibility: Mobile, Tablet, Desktop
The theme in the Pearl Harbor slot game is obvious from the title – war. The game’s official release date is poignant as it’s exactly 81 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service on the United States.
If you’ve played the Das Boot slot, you’ll know that this isn’t the first time Nolimit City have gone with a war theme. The base game uses a target-like system to make it feel like you’re in the thick of the action and is set in the cloudy skies above Oahu in Hawaii, which was the location of the military strike.
The visuals are fantastic, with only the symbols within the target active and colourful until that target expands when a Wild of a colossal symbol lands. As you’re spinning away, you’ll notice the devastation on either side of the grid, with Japanese planes flying past and burning ships and buildings below.
In terms of the soundtrack, it’s very intense and suspenseful, with traditional Japanese sounds giving it that eerie feeling as if you were there back in 1941. The audio doesn’t really alter like some other online slots when bonus features land. It speeds up a little though, which all adds to the overall intensity.
On the reels, you’ve got Japanese-looking A-10 Royals as the lower-paying symbols. These are joined by higher-paying American sailors, Japanese pilots, American generals, and Kamikaze pilots. The kamikaze pilot symbol is the most lucrative, paying from 1 x your stake for 5 in a cluster up to 625 x your stake for 40 or more in a cluster.
There are a few of Wilds in the game – the Target Wild, the xBomb Wild Multiplier and the xSplit Wild. Check out the table below, which shows you the symbols you’ll come across in the game and their payout info:

Pearl Harbor Mobile
The Pearl Harbor slot game has been produced using the latest HTML5 technology. This means it has been optimised for mobile, tablet, laptop and PC devices. Best played on 1280x720px and/or 16:9 ratio devices, it looks great on any iOS or Android device. However, I do personally prefer playing grid slots on a larger screen as there is often so much going on.
Pearl Harbor Bonus Features
There are 10 bonus features to enjoy in the Pearl Harbor slot. From xBomb explosions and Colossal Symbols to a couple of Free Spins modes, there’s a lot going on. Let’s break every bonus feature down for you so that you can fully understand the slot, starting with how the cluster mechanic works with the xSize feature.
Cluster Payout & xSize feature
The game is played on a 7×7 grid, but it’s initially just a central 3×3 area that’s active with the rest blocked. Match 5 or more symbols horizontally or vertically inside the active target area to land a winning cluster. When this happens, the winning symbols will be destroyed, which will allow for new ones to drop in.
If there are any multipliers on symbols in the winning Clusters, these are always added together with a possible round multiplier from previous xBombs before they’re multiplied to the Cluster size payout value.
With xSize, the following features will expand the active target area on the grid:
- xBomb explosions
- Targets
- Colossal symbols
Scatters
In the base game, the Scatter symbol (Japanese flag) can land on any reel, but as you’ve probably understood by now, it will only count if it lands in the active target area. If a Scatter symbol is split and a bonus feature is triggered, its multiplier value will become an (X) multiplier in the first bonus multiplier addition.
You can only land 1 Scatter per reel in the game
xBet Banzai!
For an extra 50% of your stake, you can guarantee 1 Scatter symbol in the middle of the active area. This quadruples your chances of landing the Dogfight feature and doubles your chances of triggering the Tora! Tora! Tora! feature.
For 100% extra, you will be guaranteed 2 Scatters landing on the initial drop. This will increase your chances of landing the Tora! Tora! Tora! feature 20-fold. Landing the Dogfight feature will be 4 times more likely. But please be aware that this feature might not be available in your country.
xBomb Wild Multiplier
When this symbol lands in the Pearl Harbor slot game, it will blow away up to 10 symbols surrounding it in the active area. Again, any of these symbols landing outside of the target area will not be active, so cannot blow up.
If an XBomb is adjacent to the border of the active reels, it will move the active target area by 1 row or reel. If it’s in the corner of the active area, it will expand the active area by 1 row and 1 reel.
If the xBomb gets split, it will receive a 2x multiplier for the next avalanche with +1 or the (X) multiplier amount it has been split into. They will all explode before the next avalanche.
Any transformed Wilds or Scatters that are not part of a winning Cluster will not be blown up
Targets
Target symbols can land anywhere on the reels, and this will expand the active area so that the target is now part of it. When this happens, the target symbol will transform into a Wild.
Colossal Symbols
These can appear in the size of 2×2 or 3×3, and when one lands it will expand the active reel area so that it becomes part of it. They can also have a multiplier of 2x or 3x and it’s initially counted as just 1 symbol if it’s part of a winning cluster.
With 4 splits possible, here’s what could happen to a 3×3 Colossal symbol:
Split | Outcome |
1st | Splits into 3 symbols horizontally or vertically depending on where the split has come from. |
2nd | Splits it in the other direction to a 3×3 symbol regardless of the xSplit direction. |
3rd | Split all 9 symbols in half giving you a total of 18 symbols. |
4th | Gives either 2x multipliers to each symbol from the Colossal symbol or multiplies each individual multiplier by 2. |
The same principles are applied to 2×2 Colossal symbols
xSplit feature
OK, so we’ve mentioned splitting symbols a lot already, but how does that actually happen? Well, the xSplit symbol is a samurai sword, which splits all symbols in the direction of the sword’s handle when it lands. These symbols will initially have 1 or 2 swords that can point both vertically and horizontally, but only 1 direction per sword.
It’s important to reiterate here that nothing is active unless it’s in the active target area on the reels. The same goes for the xSplit symbols and they will only activate when inside the active area and once the avalanche has stopped.
If an xSplit gets split by another xSplit symbol (still with me? I know, it’s complicated), then it will get an additional sword pointing in a new direction. But if the symbol already has a maximum of 4 swords, a new split will add a 2x multiplier. Scatters, Target and xBomb symbols all get a 2x multiplier when it’s hit by an xSplit.
If an xSplit symbol is active with a multiplier, all symbols it splits will get that multiplier too, and consecutive xSplits on multiplier symbols will double the multiplier value
Once everything is done with the xSplit symbol, that will then transform into a Wild, which will get a multiplier depending on how many swords it has. That multiplier will also multiply the sword multiplier value. A lot of multipliers there, but that’s hopefully easy enough to understand.
Dogfight feature
Landing 3 Scatters in the base game of the Pearl Harbor slot will trigger this feature. You will start with 3 spins and the action takes place inside the cockpit of a fighter plane with an instrument panel of 18 dials.
The dials will all start spinning and can either land an (X) multiplier, a (+) multiplier or nothing. Any multipliers that land will reset the spin count to 3, just like your typical respins feature that you see in a lot of other slots.
When multipliers land, they stay active until their values have been added to the round multiplier. The (+) multipliers are all added up first, with the (X) multipliers summed up next before they’re all added to the round multiplier.
The (X) multipliers remain active until a (+) multiplier lands, and if the round ends with active (X) multipliers, then they turn into (+) multipliers.
In this bonus feature, you’ve got a Dogfight Attack and a Kamikaze Attack. Nolimit describes both perfectly, so here’s how they both work in a simple-to-understand bullet point list from the provider.
Dogfight Attack:
- Fill up a column of dials.
- A Dogfight attack is initiated.
- All multipliers in the column become active.
- If the enemy plane is hit, the active multipliers are summed up in the same way as a normal bonus spin.
- If there are only (X) multipliers in the column, they are multiplied together from top to bottom, and finally by 1 to get the sum to be added to the round multiplier.
- If the enemy plane is missed, nothing is added and the next spin is initiated
- If the spin initiating the Dogfight only had (X) multipliers, those (X) multipliers remain active for the next spin.
- Multiple Dogfights are done in sequence from left to right.
Kamikaze Attack:
- If all 18 instrument dials have been filled, a Kamikaze Attack will launch after Dogfights are done.
- A multiplier wheel with 10 possible multipliers, including misses, will spin as the aircraft approaches a target ship.
- If the ship gets hit, the multiplier from the wheel will multiply with the total round multiplier from the bonus round.
Tora! Tora! Tora! feature
4 Scatters in the base game will trigger this bonus feature, and it will work in the same way as the Dogfight feature in terms of the layout with the fighter plane and the instrument panel with 18 dials, as shown in the screenshot above. Although the gameplay and the features are the same, you’ve got the addition of Midway Pop and Bomb Drop here.
Midway Pop
This feature is activated when a multiplier lands on a dial in the mid-row. The amount value pops up to the top row in the current column and is added to the total. But if no value exists on the top row, it will randomly get a (+) multiplier or an (X) multiplier.
Bomb Drop
This feature is activated when a full row of dials is filled on the instrument panel. A bomb hatch will open, a ship gets locked in, and a bomb is dropped. If you manage to hit the ship, all (+) multipliers of that row will be added together and multiplied with all the (X) multipliers of that row. If you don’t hit the ship, nothing is added and the next spin is initiated
If there are only (X) multipliers on the spin initiating the Bomb Drop, those (X) multipliers remain active. Multiple Bomb drops are done in sequence from top to bottom. It’s also important to note that possible Dogfights are done before any Bomb Drops happen.
1 in 229 spins on average will trigger 1 of the free spin features
Bonus Buy feature
In most territories outside the UK, you’ll have the chance to buy your way straight into 1 of the bonus features. The cost ranges from 60 x your stake up to 712 x your stake depending on what bonus feature you choose. Here are the RTP rates for those bonus features if you buy them:
Cost | Feature | RTP |
60 x bet | Dogfight | 96.24% |
712 x bet | Tora! Tora! Tora! | 96.33% |
73 x bet | Lucky Draw | 96.25% |
The Lucky Draw feature gives you a 49/50 chance of landing the Dogfight feature and a 1/50 chance of landing the Tora! Tora! Tora! Feature
Pearl Harbor Review Summary – an adrenaline rush of a cluster game
Wow, what a game. The Pearl Harbor slot has so much going on that it makes for some enthralling gameplay, with nonstop action to keep you entertained for a long time. Ok, so it may be extremely volatile, but a lot of games from this provider are. That’s arguably what makes them so exciting to play – landing numerous low wins in a row only for a huge one to then randomly land and payout big.
Max wins of 41,127 x bet is enticing, but it’s important to note that it’s very rare to hit that figure. Landing every 150 million spins on average, it’s 1 in 72 million spins if you use the xBet Banzai! feature.
Once in the Dogfight feature, the max win will land every 2.5 million spins whilst it’s 1 in 8,500 spins from the Tora! Tora! Tora! feature. Nevertheless, big wins are possible here, and you’ll land a winner of 100 x or more once every 1,215 spins on average.
Sometimes wreaking havoc is the only way, and Nolimit City’s 2nd cluster game (after The Border slot) is sure to be a hit. It debuts the xSize feature that expands win possibilities, which I found to be a great addition. Throw in Colossal symbols, xSplit, xBet, xBomb multipliers and a ton of other features and you have a fantastic slot. Hats off to you, Nolimit City, you’ve done it again.
If you have an appetite for all things war, Nolimit City also have D-Day which is based on the Normandy landings. With lots of bonus features, it comes with 55,555 x bet max wins.
An alternative to this one where the hit frequency is slightly higher at 22.56% is Nolimit City’s Remember Gulag slot. It features Georgy Zhukov, the Minister of Defence for the Soviet Union and boasts some exciting bonus features and 30,000 x max wins. Another military slot by Nolimit City that is worth checking out for its interesting gameplay is Tanked.
- 41,127 x bet max wins
- 10 bonus features
- Debut slot for the xSize feature
- Gameplay can initially seem complicated
- Volatility is extreme (10/10)
