Game of Thrones Slot Review
Game of Thrones is a Microgaming-powered video slot – you can play the 15 payline version from 15p to £3 a spin or the 243 ways version from 30p to £6 a spin. The game is based on the best-selling book series by George R.R. Martin, it has become a television series which has become a worldwide hit. The show has won numerous awards and nominations which has made Game of Thrones one of HBO’s most popular series of all time.
The main attraction is the Free Spins feature where you are given the opportunity to serve one of the 4 great Houses of Westeros (each house has their own free spins feature) – this is triggered by getting 3 Game of Throne logo scatter symbols. Each House offers a unique number of free spins, a unique multiplier and unique number of stacked symbols.
First up is the Baratheon House where you get 8 free spins with a fixed multiplier of 5x (means wins are multiplied by 5). You will also benefit from 3 stack House Baratheon Sigil symbols. The Lannister House gives you 10 free spins with a 4x multiplier. The House Lannister Sigil symbol is also 4 symbol stacked.
Then there’s the Stark House where you will receive 14 free spins with a 3x multiplier. House Stark Sigil symbols are stacked 5 up. Finally you have the Targaryen House where you will be rewarded with 18 free spins with a 2x multiplier. However, the House Targaryen Sigil symbol is stacked 6 up!
The good thing is that you can retrigger each of the features again (for getting 3 Game of Thrones scatter symbols during any of the features. When it comes to wins, I found the Baratheon House to be the most rewarding due to the 5x multiplier. The biggest win possible is a cool 20,250 times your stake but that’s highly unlikely. I’ve won just over 450 times my stake just the once which shows you the possibility for big wins is there. Most often than not, you will win between 20 and 30 times your stake.
The other feature is the Scatter Bonus feature which is played when you get 2 Game of Thrones scatter symbols – it’s a good consolation for missing out on the free spins features. Anyway, this feature is simple as you win a cash prize which is a multiple of your stake. The last feature is the Gamble Trail feature where you can watch videos of the series whilst your journey through the kingdoms of Westeros and Essos. You can double up 4 times if you’re lucky.
I really love the Game of Thrones slot game – aesthetically it’s brilliant with a rich colour palette and amazing animations. The level of detail is brilliant. I found the game to be a medium variance one with big wins quite hard to come by but of a decent size. There are more frequent smaller-sized wins but Game of Thrones has a nice balance to it. I predict this to be a very popular slot game and its one I will be playing frequently – thumbs up Microgaming! If you’re a fan of the television series, you will absolutely love the slot version – highly recommended.
