Avalanche Feature

Each time you land a winning combination, the avalanche feature comes into play. Winning symbols burst off the reels, with new symbols dropping in to take their place, giving you another chance to win from a single spin. The avalanche feature then continues until no more new wins are formed.

Elmo Redrops Feature

On any spin, Elmo the Sloth may drop in from the feature reels. He can appear either 1 or 2 positions tall. If he appears as 1 x 1 symbol, however, he’ll remain inactive until he has the space to grow

Once active, Elmo gives you respins. You get 1 respin for him landing on the reels, then another respin each time he walks to a new column to the right. So for example, if Elmo lands on reel 1, you’ll gain 6 respins.

As he walks across the reels, Elmo also scares off all bird symbols, turning them into regular wilds or locked wilds. This gives you extra chances to win big during your respins.

Free Drops Bonus Feature

Land 3, 4 5, or 6 bonus scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, and you’ll receive 6, 9, 12, or 15 free spins respectively. During your free spins, 2 new feature symbols are added to the Cool Reels.

Tropicool 2 Review Summary – entertaining and easy-going

First things first, the Tropicool 2 slot is graphically stunning and very well designed. None of the mechanisms appear clunky, and even the odd story line is charming when paired with such great illustrations.

Moving on to the gameplay and we’re also impressed. ELK Studios are great at producing sequels that don’t leave you disappointed (or wanting to simply play the original), and they do this by adding extra features and bigger prizes.

In Tropicool 2, the feature reel is triple the size of the original slot, allowing for colossal feature symbols, These can give you some flurries of action in the base game. Bigger wins, however, are saved for the free spins round, where the feature reel can also hold multipliers. There are max wins of 25,000 x your stake up for grabs, which is an improvement on the original slot’s 10,000 x stake win cap.

Elmo is a great new edition and his Redrops feature adds a chaotic fun element. Added wilds help you to achieve multiple wins from a single spin. The only downside is the 94% RTP rate. We were disappointed by the original game’s 95% rate, so to lose another percent feels poor form from ELK Studios.

Still, with a hit frequency rate of 24.9%, there are much worse slots to spin and most won’t be as fun or as good-looking as Tropicool 2.
