In the Rain Balls™ slot, you’ll see a familiar 5×3 layout with 15 paylines. Uniquely, it adds a Plinko feature beneath the reels, differentiating it from other online slots. If you usually play new slots, we think you’ll find novelty here, even though it’s slightly older than you may be used to. You need to land at least three matching symbols on a payline to create a win. 

The Rain Balls™ slot game allows you to stake between £0.75 and £300. This upper limit puts it amongst the best online slots for high rollers, but low-budget players may burn through their bankroll quickly at £0.75 a spin. The controls are in the panel at the bottom of the screen in the free slots version I played, and you can set up autoplay. There’s a Rain Balls™ RTP of 96%. It’s around the average for the market, and I can’t find any RTP ranges. You don’t need to search UK slot sites to get the best rate. Be aware that Rain Balls™ is a high volatility slot, which was obvious when playing the Rain Balls™ demo. 

The Rain Balls™ maximum win is 5,000x your stake, which is a solid top win. However, it’s still a bit below what jackpot slots offer, meaning it’s not a top-tier contender for massive prizes. The Free Spins are the best way to get closer to the biggest payouts, but I rarely managed to hit them while researching my Rain Balls™ review. 

Rain Balls™ Theme—An Interesting Take on a Classic Trope

Skywind has gone all out with the Irish theme in Rain Balls™. It’s a slightly offbeat decision, as the only Irish thing about the slot’s name is the accurate description of the weather in Sligo. However, the theme is cohesive and creates some nice visuals. I loved the animations when the Plinko aspect kicked in.

The sounds are decent if trad is your thing, although you won’t visit Rain Balls™ casinos purely to hear the music. To be honest, there’s a lilting quality on the flute that can start to grate. Happily, there’s a mute button beneath the control panel.

Rain Balls™ Mobile Slot

When you play the Rain Balls™ mobile slot, you’ll hardly notice any difference from the desktop version. The graphics are slick and retain all crispness on a smaller screen. It is slightly squashed due to the extra Plinko aspect, but it still works well for mobile casino players. 

Rain Balls™ Bonus Features

There are plenty of Rain Ball bonus features, making the base game and bonus rounds interesting. The clover symbols sometimes appear with balls attached, and when you create a win with them, they drop into the Plinko section to potentially trigger one of four bonus rounds. The pots change around on every spin, so that you won’t get the same bonuses every time.

Wild Reel

If you land a ball in a Wild Reel pot, it turns the reel above it completely wild. Landing extra balls in the same pot will add 1x to the multiplier for that wild.

Extra Balls

If you drop a ball into this pot, it will award three extra balls that can trigger more features. 

Free Spins

Landing in this pot awards ten Free Spins, with any extra balls adding two extra spins. If you land in this pot during the bonus, you get two extra spins each time. All features can trigger during the Free Spins. 

Lucky Wheel

If you land a ball in the Lucky Wheel pot, you get one spin of the wheel for every ball. It awards a win of between 5x and 500x your stake. 

Land a ball in the Free Games pot and you’ll trigger the Free Games feature with 10 free spins. Each extra ball that lands in the Free Games pot adds 2 more free spins to that total. This also applies during the free spins.

All the other features can trigger during the free spins. In fact, you’ll have a very decent chance to land some extras as each 4 or 5 pots will be live with a feature on each free spin. Look out for special wall blocks which can become active during the free spins and boost the likelihood of triggering a feature.

Lucky Wheel feature

Land a ball in the Lucky Wheel pot and you’ll get a spin of the Lucky Wheel feature. Spin the wheel. You could land a cash prize of between 5 and 50 x stake depending on where the pointer lands.

If the pointer falls on the Mini, Minor or Grand segments, you’ll pocket those fixed jackpot prizes. They are as follows:

Rain Balls™ is a unique approach to slots, but the Plinko round might not appeal to all players.

Pros

• It’s a fast-paced game
• Up to 5,000x is a decent max win

Cons

• Not everyone loves Plinko

Rain Balls™ is a nice attempt at something different. I enjoyed playing it and thought it was good that Skywind tried something new. 

However, it’s certainly not perfect, and there’s room for improvement. The top win is decent, but there are many slots out there with higher possible payouts. It could also be too quirky for some players, with the bonus triggers away from the norm. However, the chance to land multiple features should make up for this. If you like slots and Plinko, it’s worth trying out.
