While the graphics aren’t bad, they don’t offer anything new. I’ve seen it all before, and there are plenty of slots that have done it better.

It’s a similar story with the sounds. They’re generic and don’t make the game stand out. While it comes together to create an atmosphere, it’s not enough to make this an effective theme. Playson could have done much better with Solar Queen.

Solar Queen Mobile Slot

The Solar Queen mobile slot is acceptable. It gives you solid performance without losing any speed from the desktop. The controls work well on a smaller screen, and the graphics look almost identical.

It’s available in both portrait and landscape, but you’re better off playing in landscape, especially if your device has a smaller screen. It gives you a clearer view of the reels for mobile casino gameplay.

Flaming Frames

In the base game, there’s a 10-spin countdown. During the countdown, every sun symbol that lands leaves a frame behind. Each time a sun symbol lands on a frame, it increases the global multiplier at the top of the reels. On the 10th spin, all frames turn into wild symbols, creating a potentially big win, before the reels reset to start the cycle again.

Free Spins

Landing 3 scatter symbols awards 10 spins. Any multiplier you had before the round began remains for the duration of the spins. If a sun symbol lands during this round, it becomes a sticky wild for the rest of the feature. You can’t retrigger the Free Spins as the scatter only appears in the base game.

Solar Queen has some decent bonus features, with the 10-spin cycle being quite interesting. However, it’s not enough to make it a worthwhile game to play. The theme is tired and cliché, and the maximum win is much too low for its advertised volatility.

I think there’s some potential in Solar Queen, and it could have been a game worth playing with a bigger max win and better theme. In its current state, it’s definitely not a slot for everybody.
