The agreement specifies their collaboration until the end of the 2012/2013 football season (about 15 months) and will see both parties work together across a wide range of “commercial activities”. Paddy Power will have access to promote their gaming products on the Manchester City official website. Furthermore, a special Manchester City website will be created to cater to the agreement.
The Chief Brand and Commercial Officer for Manchester City, Ian Cafferky, said that the club “wanted to wait for the right partner with the right principles” – he went on to say that its important how the partner “intended to engage” with their most coveted assets (their fans). He then went on to say:
“Not only does Paddy Power and football go hand-in-hand but with its dynamic match-day odds and money-back specials, we believe this partnership will provide real added value to our supporters’ match-day experience.”
This is great exposure for Paddy Power as Manchester City currently sit at the top of the Barclays Premier League by 2 points over current champions Manchester United. Man City want to be a major player in domestic and European football and it’s good that they see Paddy Power as a “major player in the gambling world” as a result of their “strong operations” – a marriage made in heaven in seems.
Patrick (Paddy) Power, who is the Communications Director, said there are “a lot of similarities between Manchester City and Paddy Power” as both parties have been known to put their fans and customers (respectively) first whilst “rising to the top of the table” in their respective fields. As a Man Utd fan, I disagree with the latter! On a more serious note, Patrick said that Paddy Power “specialises in surprising and delighting punters” and wants to share and offer their “unbeatable betting value” with Manchester City fans.
Whilst not the biggest Manchester City fans, we highly commend Paddy Power Games and Casino – there is an abundance of quality slot games such as Alice’s Wonderland, Rainbow Riches, Leprechaun’s Luck, The Mummy and King Kong amongst many, many more.
