Created by Yggdrasil Gaming, The Dark Joker Rizes is the sequel to the popular Jokerizer slot. It’s another comic horror-themed affair that comes with a similar collection of re-spins, sticky Jokers and Mystery Wins which can deliver payouts of up to 6,000 coins.

It has 5 reels and 10 paylines and can be played from between 10p to £10 per spin. The elements which made the original Jokerizer such an entertainer are all present and correct in the sequel, as well as a nice added extra.

Once again the Joker symbol is the key to winning big. After every winning spin, the Joker Mode will become active. You can either collect your win, or carry on spinning with your winnings. Each Jokerizer spin will cost you 20 coins but the chances of securing a win are higher.

If two jokers hit during Jokerizer Mode you’ll be awarded a Mystery Win of between 20 and 6,000 coins. More Jokers and the potential wins get even higher. If you’re lucky you’ll be given a bonus spin after the Mystery Win has been awarded. Even better is the fact that the in the bonus spin the all joker reels are sticky.

When the Jokerizer Mode is active, it’s possible to up your bet from 20 coins up to 200 coins. For that extra investment, you’ll be given 1 free Joker symbol, increasing your chances of securing a win. The Jokerizer Mode ends after you’ve run out of bonus coins or you’ve received a payout of at least 500 coins.

The Joker can also pay big dividends during the base game. Find 3 of them and you’ll be awarded a Mystery Win of between 1,000 and 6,000 coins. Four Jokers gives between 2,000 and 6,000. Find 5 and a 6,000 coin payout is guaranteed.

In addition to the Jokers, the reels feature 6 traditional slot symbols such as bells, cherries and grapes, albeit with a slightly creepy twist. The visuals are excellent and the spins silky smooth. It’s all accompanied by horror-movie style soundtrack.

The Dark Joker Rizes certainly matches up to its predecessor in terms of game play. The engine features 10 paylines, five from each side. The game is all about the Jokers though – they may look a little deranged but they can have you laughing all the way to the bank. If you like the theme, I would highly recommend Microgaming’s Immortal Romance which is one the best slots I’ve ever played.
