Yggdrasil Gaming’s Jackpot Raiders Slot Review

Yggdrasil Gaming’s action-packed Jackpot Raiders is a 5 reel, 20 payline jackpot slot which comes with cash bonuses, 2 free spins features with multipliers up to 10x, a pick me style game, a multi-level feature and 5 progressive jackpots. Join Sam and Bear on a journey to locate the treasures of the legendary Sunken City.

Jackpot Raiders is powered by Yggdrasil Gaming and comes with 5 reels and 20 paylines. Playable from 20p to £40 a spin across all devices, this Indiana Jones/adventure themed slot comes with lots of extras. There’s cash prizes, 2 free spins features, a pick & click feature, a multi-level game where cash prizes, maps and relics can be won and 5 progressive jackpots up for grabs!

Visually, Jackpot Raiders is as good as they come – set inside a ship’s cabin, it does look a scene from an Indiana Jones film. Symbols on the reels include hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades as well as backpacks, Sam’s hat, Captain Bear and explorer Sam. The latter is the most rewarding symbol giving you 3.5, 12.5 or 200 times your stake for 3, 4 or 5 across payline. Funnily enough, there’s no wild symbol.

Feature-packed, there’s The Compass feature – this is activated by landing 3 or more scatter symbols or in the Pick & Click Chest feature. When the compass is activated, it will give you 10 Jackpot Free Spins or entry to the Treasure Hunt Bonus feature. The scatter only appears in the base game and gives you the compass when getting 3 or more in a single spin:

  • 3 scatters will give you the compass
  • 4 scatters will give you the compass as well as 50 times your stake
  • 5 scatters will give you the compass as well as 500 times your stake

If you get 2 scatter symbols, you’ll enter the Pick & Click Chest feature – you simply make picks to win the following:

  • 1, 2 or 4 times your stake
  • 10 Jackpot Free Spins
  • Entry to the Treasure Hunt Bonus feature
  • 1 random Map towards your Map collection

In terms of the Map Collection, there are 5 different maps to collect – you have the Summit Shrine Map, the Highland Gate Map, the Jungle Ruins Map, the Desert Tomb Map and the Templar Grave Map. Each Map only appears on it’s respective reel. When you fill a particular collection by getting 5 identical Maps), you will get 10 Jackpot free spins with 1 starting gem towards that reel’s Jackpot collection. When beginning, you will begin with 2 Summit Shrine Maps and 1 each of the other Maps. Maps are collected in the Treasure Hunt Bonus feature and Pick & Click Chest feature.

If you enter the Jackpot Free Spins feature, you will get 10 free spins with a 3x multiplier – here, no scatter or Map symbols appear. 5 different gems will give you a Jackpot when 5 gems of the same colour are collected during the feature.

Then you have the Treasure Hunt Bonus feature which is triggered only from The Compass feature – you then need to choose to play as Sam or Bear. Sam will give you better rewards when she opens a chest but is more likely to fail her attempt. Bear will give you smaller prizes but has a higher chance of winning the prize. Once you choose, you will have 3 chances to cross the river and open a chest – with 3 different levels, you move up a level once the player opens a chest. Each level has higher rewards:

Safe Level Risky Level Very Risky Level
Between 2.5 and 17 x your stake Between 12 and 60 x your stake Between 17.5 and 90 x your stake
Low chance of Map Medium chance of Map Highest chance of Map
Low chance of Relic Medium chance of Relic Highest chance of Relic

If you collect 5 Relics in the Treasure Hunt Bonus feature, you will enter the Sunken City Free Spins feature where get 10 free spins. All wins are subject to a 10x multiplier too. You’ll also begin with 1 gem towards each Jackpot collection.

Now, collecting 5 gems of the same colour will win you the corresponding Jackpot – known as The Jackpots feature, gems appear only in the 2 free spins features. Being progressive, there are 5 jackpots to be won – they will reward you with a minimum of:

  • Forgotten Jackpot – minimum of £40
  • Rare Jackpot – minimum of £200
  • Mythical Jackpot – minimum of £600
  • Ancient Jackpot – minimum of £1,500
  • Legendary Jackpot – minimum of £15,000

As you have read, Jackpot Raiders has a lot going on – it’s a lot simpler than it sounds once you starting spinning those reels. Medium to high variance, you can win up to 4,100 times your stake on each spin/free spin. The bigger wins will come from the progressive jackpots of course but there’s a good chance you can win big from the multiple bonus features.

My favourite feature is the Sunken City Free Spins feature due to the 10x multiplier – I also like the progressive jackpots element which is sure to make Jackpot Raiders a popular slot. Overall, Jackpot Raiders is a good slot from Yggdrasil Gaming (as always) – make sure you join explorer Sam and Captain Bear in the hunt for treasures of the legendary Sunken City. If you like the theme, Microgaming’s Lara Croft: Temples and Tombs is recommended.
