This feels a little unimaginative, given the number of Asian-inspired slots around, and this definitely isn’t one of the provider’s most unique titles. The illustrations on the reels are all rather standard, though the mountainscape background is pretty – complete with traditional Chinese architecture and cherry blossom trees.

Gong Feature

Throughout the game, you’ll see a gong to the right of the reels. This displays the global gong multiplier value, which starts at 1x but can increase at random too.

Each time a gong symbol lands on the reels, it splits into 1 symbol parts and each part pays the value of the base stake, multiplied by the current global gong multiplier value. After the gong symbol has paid out, the multiplier increases by 1 and the process repeats until no new gongs can pay out.

Free Spins Feature

Land 6+ scatter symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger the Free Spins feature. Note that all GIgaBlox size scatter symbols split into single symbols, so this is easier to achieve than first seems.

At the start of the free spins feature, the global gong multiplier chooses a value at random. During the round, both the Super Wild Symbols and the gong symbols have a higher chance of landing.

Firstly, we have to admit we’re a little disappointed by the GigaGong GigaBlox visuals. The slot looks a little stale, and it’s clearly not Yggdrasil Gaming’s best work. If you contrast this game with the first slot in the GigaBlox series, Lucky Neko GigaBlox, it feels like the provider has regressed.

The gameplay is also quite mild. The super wild symbols keep things moving and the gong symbols paired with the global gong multiplier are the stars of the show. This feature does offer the chance of unlimited increasing multipliers (and wins of up to 5,120 x your bet), though it’s more likely that the multiplier will reset well before then.

Compare GigaGong GigaBlox to the likes of 90k Yeti GigaBlox or Water Blox Gigablox and it falls flat. That said, the slot’s medium volatility may appeal to some players, and it still has a pinch of innovation.

Overall, we would give the GigaGong GigaBlox slot a spin or two if you’re a fan of this mechanism. At the very least, it will remind you to fire up the better games of the series.
