Yanaha’s Rite Slot Review

The Yanaha’s Rite slot is a Native American-themed game from WMS. It’s played using an unusual 4 reel, Dual Ways Pay game engine. Winning combinations can form both horizontally and vertically. Land 4 or more scatters during a spell of 20 spins and you’ll activate the Free Spins feature. On each of the 8 free spins, a Spirit Modifier feature becomes active. These can expand the game grid to 8 symbols wide, add mystery transforming symbols, add random wilds or bring a multiplier of up to 10x into play. Discover more about this rather mysterious slot in our full Yanaha’s Rite review.

Yanaha’s Rite Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits

The Yanaha’s Rite slot is played using the Dual Ways Pays game engine. That makes it possible to form winning combinations both horizontally or vertically. To create a winner, land the same symbol on 3 or more adjacent horizontal reels, starting from reel 1 or on 3 or more adjoining rows, starting from the top row.

Stake levels here range from 20p to £50 per spin. Click on the coins to the right of the reels then use the + and – buttons to adjust until you find a suitable stake. The paytable shows amounts in cash values rather than coins which is always our preferred option as it keeps things nice and clear. In some countries, there’s an Auto Play function.

The Yanaha’s Rite RTP is 96.7% which is well above average. Medium to high variance, and like other WMS slots, you can win up to £250,000 on any single spin. This can be won playing at any stake.

Theme – Audio & Design Features – head to the desert

yanahas-rite-slot-base-game

The Native American-style theme in the Yanaha’s Rite slot is superbly done. A rocky desert forms the backdrop to the reels here which are watched over by a tribal elder beating a drum.

The images are packed full of detail and are very easy on the eye. Rather than spinning, the symbols almost float into their positions. It’s all very impressive. Likewise, the rather haunting panpipe soundtrack. This is a terrifically designed slot.

The reels are made up of 7 symbols featuring tribal art and a trio of Native American characters. The chieftain is the most lucrative symbol. He pays 1 x stake if you land a 6-symbol combination and 4 x if you land 8 on a payline (you’ll find out how that is possible in the features section below). To the right of the reels is a Totem Pole. Fill this by collecting scatters which in turn, triggers the free spins feature. We’ll look at this in detail below.

The superb sound and visuals in the desktop version are present and correct if you’re playing Yanaha’s Rite on a tablet or mobile device. The game mechanic is certainly unusual but it works well if playing on a device with a smaller screen. The features stack up nicely in the Yanaha’s Rite mobile slot too.

Yanaha’s Rite Bonus Features

In Yanaha’s Rite, there are 5 bonus features, which all stem in the free spins. These aren’t just any old free spins though. On each one of them, your winning chances are boosted with the arrival of a Spirit modifier feature.

Free Spins feature

yanahas-rite-slot-free-spins-feature

The way the Free Spins feature is triggered is slightly unusual. Rather than landing scatter symbols on the same spin, you collect scatters within a defined number of spins. Whenever a scatter lands, it’s added to the Totem Pole to the side of the reels. Collect 4 scatters in a period of 20 spins to trigger the feature.

If you have any extra scatters on top of the minimum 4, they are carried over into the feature. You’ll then go on to play 8 free spins. Fill the Totem Pole during the feature and another 5 free spins are added to your total. On each free spin, 1 of the following Spirit modifier features will be in play. These are selected randomly and give you the following:

  • Wolf feature: here, the reels expand horizontally, up to a maximum of 8 symbols wide. Once an expansion has taken place, it will remain that way for any free spins you have left.
  • Hare feature: joining the action here is a dream catcher symbol. This is a mystery transforming symbol. All the dream catchers morph into the same symbol. A new payout consideration is then made with the dream catcher symbols in position.
  • Eagle feature: wilds are added to an assortment of random positions on the game grid.
  • Bear feature: when the bear stirs into life, it awards a random multiplier. This boosts any payouts on that spin by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x.

Yanaha’s Rite Review Summary – innovative gameplay impresses

The Yanaha’s Rite slot is impressively done, combining high-class sound and visuals with some innovative gameplay. The Dual Ways Pays game engine itself is unusual enough but brings something different to the table.

It’s all about the Free Spins feature though. Those free spins awarded when you do trigger the feature can be well worth landing too thanks to the Spirit modifiers feature that are active on each of them. The best is the Bear feature which applies a multiplier up to 10x to each free spin.

Atmospheric and offering some decent features, Yanaha’s Rite is a very playable slot. If you like the native American theme, Play ‘n GO’s Thunderscreech and Nolimit City’s Buffalo Hunter are recommended.
