Star Trek Red Alert Slot Review

The Star Trek Red Alert video slot has 5 reels and 25 paylines and is powered by WMS. It’s the first of the Star Trek slots launched by WMS and arguably the best. You can play it from 35p to £105 a spin. This game is popular in Las Vegas casinos and can now be played online. The game has 2 bonus features in total and has a max payout of £45,000.

Look out for the Feature symbol as 3 or more anywhere on the reels will trigger the Red Alert feature. You will also receive 1 medal (explained later). The feature gives you an unlimited number of free spins. However, every winning spin blasts away one of the multipliers which range between 2x and 15x. You will start with 5 shields initially (5 free spins effectively) and each spin where you don’t get a winning combination removes 1 shield.

Once no more shields are left, you need to choose between 2 communication channels. If you reveal ‘Spin Till You Win’, the reels will then spin until you have a winning spin. If ‘Shields to Full’ is reveal, the shields are recharged back to 100% and the feature continues. You can also get ‘No Extra Spin’ which will end the feature. Now, if you get 3 or more Shield symbols during any spin, you will reset the shields back to 5. Furthermore, the 15x multiplier will always remain on the screen even after it’s blasted and a medal is awarded each time you hit it!

The other bonus feature is the Win Warp feature – this can be triggered when you have a winning spin that doesn’t trigger the Red Alert feature. Anyway, it consists of 4 random features of which you will play 1. Here are the details:

  • Rock Create Multiplying Wild feature – the Rock create leaves behind a multiplying wild in random positions on 1 of the reels. The multiplier value is between 3x and 10x.
  • Scotty’s Wild Reel feature – Scotty appears and fills 1 or 2 reels completely with Scotty Wild symbols. It’s been highly reward for me thus far!
  • Spock Multiplier feature – Spock will appear and multiplies your win amount between 3x and 10x.
  • Enterprise Fly-By feature – the Enterprise will fly onto the screen with the symbols in the winning combination changing into a more rewarding symbol (Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Wild, Feature or Insignia).

The Win Warp feature is exciting is you are a Star Trek fan due to the graphics and footage. The win amounts vary but the bigger wins will almost always come from the Red Alert feature. Finally though, you will earn medals for playing the game – these are shown in the top left hand corner of the game. Once you get 50 medals, you can then play the Star Trek Explore New Worlds slot game.
